100% cotton wax printed fabric manufacturers

Quality is determined by the yarn count (typically 40s x 40s or 24s x 24s) and the thread density. High-grade wax prints should use 100% combed cotton to ensure a smooth surface and high absorption of dyes. Check for 'Double Face' printing, where the pattern intensity is nearly identical on both sides, indicating a premium wax-resist dyeing process rather than a cheap digital surface print.

For B2B sourcing, ensure the fabric meets a Colorfastness to Washing grade of 4 or higher (ISO 105-C06) to prevent bleeding. The shrinkage rate should be controlled within ±3%. Since these fabrics are often used for traditional garments, verify that the weight ranges between 120gsm to 150gsm for the ideal balance of durability and breathability.

Suppliers should provide OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification to guarantee the absence of harmful azo dyes and chemicals. For the US market, compliance with CPSIA is required if the fabric is intended for children's apparel. For the EU, ensure the products meet REACH regulations regarding chemical safety.

Real Wax uses a traditional resin-resist method resulting in unique 'crackling' effects. Super Wax uses higher quality cotton and more complex color layers. Imitation Wax is often a screen print that mimics the look but lacks the texture and depth. For high-end African fashion markets, Real Wax is the industry benchmark for authenticity and value.

This is a common risk in low-cost sourcing. Always request a pre-shipment sample and perform a burn test: 100% cotton will turn to fine ash and smell like burning paper, while polyester blends will melt and form hard black beads. Explicitly state '100% Cotton' on the Proforma Invoice (PI) to provide legal recourse if the composition is misrepresented.

Focus on Volume-Based Tiered Pricing. For wax prints, the standard bolt is usually 6 or 12 yards. Negotiate based on the total number of designs per container; suppliers prefer fewer design changes. Ask for customized selvedge branding (your brand name printed on the edge) as a value-add for long-term partnerships.

Textiles are prone to moisture damage. Ensure the supplier uses double-layer packaging: an inner plastic polybag and an outer woven bag or carton. For sea freight, specify 'Top Loading Only' or ensure heavy goods aren't stacked on top to prevent crushing the fabric cores. Use FOB (Free On Board) terms if you have a reliable forwarder to better control the shipping costs and timeline.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after you confirm receipt of goods. Avoid direct transfers to private bank accounts. For large orders, consider a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment against the Bill of Lading (B/L) copy after a successful third-party quality inspection (e.g., SGS or Intertek).
