100cr6 steel price manufacturers

When evaluating the price of 100Cr6 (bearing steel), you must confirm the chemical composition (Carbon 0.93-1.05%, Chromium 1.35-1.60%) and heat treatment state. Prices vary significantly between Annealed (softened for machining) and Quenched/Tempered states. Additionally, ensure the supplier provides Hardness levels (typically 20-25 HRC for annealed) and Inclusion ratings (ASTM E45), as high-purity steel for precision bearings commands a premium price.

The manufacturing process—Hot Rolled, Cold Drawn, or Centerless Ground—directly impacts the quote. Cold drawn bars offer better dimensional accuracy but cost more than hot-rolled ones. If your application requires h6 or h9 tolerances, expect a higher price point. Furthermore, surface defects like decarburization layers must be minimal; specify the allowable depth to avoid receiving low-grade material that requires excessive machining.

100Cr6 is the designation under DIN EN ISO 683-17. When sourcing, ensure the material is cross-referenced correctly with AISI 52100 (US), GCr15 (China), or SUJ2 (Japan). Buyers should demand a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) according to EN 10204 3.1 to guarantee traceability and compliance with international mechanical property benchmarks.

100Cr6 is primarily used for ball and roller bearings, needle rollers, and high-pressure fuel injection components. Its high wear resistance and fatigue strength make it essential for automotive and aerospace applications. If your project involves high-load mechanical parts or precision tools, the price premium for 100Cr6 over standard carbon steel is justified by its superior dimensional stability and hardness.

Steel fraud is a common risk. Always request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS or TUV to conduct a Spectrometer Analysis to verify the Chromium content. Use Made-in-China.com’s Secured Trading services to ensure payment is only released after the quality is verified against the agreed-upon MTC (Mill Test Certificate).

Steel prices are highly sensitive to raw material costs (iron ore/scrap) and energy surcharges. Negotiate based on tonnage tiers; for 100Cr6, orders exceeding 20 tons (a full container load) usually trigger significant discounts. Ask for a price breakdown including the 'Base Price' and 'Size Extras' to understand where your money is going, and consider long-term framework agreements to hedge against market volatility.

100Cr6 is prone to oxidation (rust) during sea transit. Ensure the contract specifies anti-rust oil coating and seaworthy packaging (VCI paper and wooden crates). For shipping to Europe or the US, check for Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) or Section 232 tariffs that might apply to specific steel categories. Always use CIF or DAP incoterms if you want the supplier to handle the complex maritime insurance for heavy industrial goods.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone on-site factory inspections. Avoid making full payments via unprotected wire transfers; instead, use Letters of Credit (L/C) for large volumes or Escrow-based payment systems. This ensures that the supplier adheres to the lead time (usually 30-45 days for custom rolling) and quality specs before receiving the final balance.
