20 seat buses for sale manufacturers

When evaluating a 20-seat bus, prioritize the engine displacement and emission standards (e.g., Euro IV, V, or VI) to ensure compliance with local environmental laws. Key mechanical aspects include braking systems (ABS+EBD), suspension type (leaf spring vs. air suspension for comfort), and fuel type (Diesel, Gasoline, or Electric). For passenger safety, verify the presence of three-point seatbelts, emergency exits, and reinforced body structures.

Professional buyers should demand ISO 9001 certification for the manufacturing facility and specific product certifications such as WVTA (Whole Vehicle Type Approval) for Europe or DOT/FMVSS for the United States. Ensure the vehicle has passed rollover tests (ECE R66) and that all glass components carry the E-Mark or CCC certification to guarantee shatter resistance.

Suppliers on Made-in-China.com often offer extensive customization. You can request interior configurations (luxury VIP seating vs. standard commuter benches), entertainment systems (LCD screens, WiFi routers), and climate control upgrades (high-capacity AC units for tropical climates). Additionally, exterior branding/livery and right-hand drive (RHD) vs. left-hand drive (LHD) conversions are critical depending on your target market.

A high-quality 20-seat bus should have a service life of 10 to 15 years or 500,000 kilometers with proper care. Maintenance should occur every 5,000 to 10,000 km, focusing on oil filter changes, brake pad inspections, and tire rotations. Ensure the supplier provides a detailed service manual and a guaranteed supply of spare parts for at least 10 years post-purchase.

The biggest risks include non-compliance with local road authority regulations, which can lead to the vehicle being seized at customs. Another risk is shipping damage (corrosion from sea air or structural impact). To mitigate this, always use Professional Third-Party Inspections (like SGS or Intertek) before the final payment and ensure the vehicle is treated with anti-corrosion wax before maritime transport.

For high-value assets like buses, use Letters of Credit (L/C) or Escrow services to protect your capital. A common structure is a 30% deposit to start production and 70% paid against the Bill of Lading (B/L) after a successful pre-shipment inspection. Avoid direct wire transfers to unverified accounts; instead, utilize the secured payment systems provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com.

Buses are typically shipped via Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) vessels, which is the safest method as the vehicle is driven onto the ship. If Ro-Ro is unavailable, Flat Rack containers are an alternative. Ensure the Incoterms are clearly defined—CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) is often preferred for new buyers, but FOB (Free On Board) gives you more control over the shipping costs if you have a reliable freight forwarder.

You must verify the HS Code (typically 8702) to determine the exact import duties in your country. Required documents usually include the Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin (to benefit from Free Trade Agreements), and the Original Bill of Lading. Some countries also require a Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) certificate before the bus leaves China.
