Chemical toys manufacturers

Chemical toys are strictly regulated due to potential health risks. You must ensure products comply with EN71-4 (Experimental sets for chemistry) and EN71-5 (Chemical toys other than experimental sets) for the EU market, or ASTM F963-17 for the US. It is mandatory to verify that the supplier provides a Children's Product Certificate (CPC) and that all substances are REACH or TSCA compliant to ensure they do not contain prohibited phthalates or heavy metals.

Prioritize sets that use food-grade or low-toxicity reagents (e.g., citric acid, sodium bicarbonate) rather than aggressive acids or bases. The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for every chemical included must be provided by the supplier. Additionally, check if the age-appropriateness is clearly labeled, as chemical toys usually require a minimum age of 8+ or 12+ years depending on the complexity and risk level of the reactions.

Packaging must include clear hazard pictograms and precautionary statements in the language of the destination country. Each container must be child-resistant and leak-proof. Ensure the instruction manual includes first-aid information and a list of required household items not included in the kit. Made-in-China.com verified suppliers often provide customized OEM packaging that meets these international labeling standards.

The accompanying hardware, such as test tubes and beakers, should be made of borosilicate glass for heat resistance or high-transparency, shatter-proof PP/PS plastic for younger children. Ensure that any electronic components (like stirrers or heated plates) carry CE or UL marks to prevent electrical hazards during experiments.

Chemicals are often flagged as 'Sensitive Goods.' To avoid delays, ensure your supplier provides a DGM Report (Dangerous Goods Management) for air transport or a Non-Hazardous Declaration if applicable. Using professional logistics providers found on Made-in-China.com who specialize in chemical handling can significantly reduce the risk of customs rejection.

Conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) focusing on the sealing integrity of chemical packets to prevent cross-contamination. Request a random sampling lab test from a third-party agency like SGS or Intertek to verify that the chemical composition matches the approved sample and does not contain unlisted hazardous impurities.

For bulk OEM orders, a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is recommended. Use Trade Resources or Secure Payment services on Made-in-China.com to protect your funds. Given the complexity of sourcing specific chemical reagents and custom printing, allow for a lead time of 35-50 days, especially during peak seasons.

Liquids and powders require specialized export packaging (double-walled cartons and moisture-proof liners). Ensure the shipment is not placed near high-heat sources in the container. For sea freight, choose FCL (Full Container Load) if possible to minimize the risk of damage or contamination from other shippers' goods in an LCL (Less than Container Load) environment.
