China metal fencing & gate manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel or Aluminum Alloy 6063-T5 for superior corrosion resistance. For steel products, ensure a zinc coating thickness of at least 40-60g/m² for standard use, or higher for coastal areas. The wall thickness of the pickets and posts is critical; for commercial security, a minimum of 1.5mm to 2.0mm is recommended to prevent structural bending.

Request AkzoNobel or Tiger Drylac powder coating, which are international benchmarks for UV resistance and color retention. Ensure the supplier follows a multi-stage pretreatment process, including sandblasting or phosphating, to guarantee the coating adheres properly. A quality finish should pass a salt spray test of at least 500 to 1,000 hours without showing signs of peeling or rust.

For the US market, products should align with ASTM F2408 for ornamental fencing. For European markets, look for CE marking and compliance with EN 10223. If the gate is automated, it must meet UL325 (US) or EN 12453 (EU) safety standards to prevent entrapment and injury. Always ask for ISO 9001 certification to ensure consistent manufacturing processes.

Gates should be equipped with heavy-duty adjustable hinges and stainless steel bolts to prevent sagging over time. If sourcing automated gates, verify the motor's IP rating (minimum IP55) for water resistance and ensure the control board is compatible with local voltage (e.g., 110V vs 220V). Anti-collision infrared sensors are a mandatory safety feature for high-traffic commercial gates.

Specify seaworthy packaging in the contract, such as steel pallets with plastic film wrapping and bubble wrap to prevent friction during transit. Use Made-in-China.com's inspection services or a third-party auditor to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to check for coating defects or scratches before the container is sealed.

Fencing is high-volume and heavy; therefore, Full Container Load (FCL) is significantly more economical than LCL. To maximize space, request knock-down (KD) designs rather than fully welded panels, as this can increase loading capacity by up to 200-300%. Ensure the Incoterms are clearly defined, with FOB (Free On Board) being the preferred choice for buyers who want control over freight costs.

Check your local customs regulations, as some countries impose anti-dumping duties (ADD) on specific Chinese metal products. To manage this, work with reputable suppliers on Made-in-China.com who can provide a Certificate of Origin and accurate HS Codes (e.g., 7308.90 or 7610.10) to ensure correct tariff classification and avoid unexpected penalties at the port.

Negotiate based on raw material index pricing (e.g., London Metal Exchange - LME) to ensure transparency. For large projects, request a staggered payment schedule (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% against Bill of Lading) and link the final payment to the successful passing of a third-party quality lab test for coating thickness and material grade.
