Custom challenge coins price manufacturers

Most professional challenge coins are made from Zinc Alloy (for 3D designs) or Brass (for premium weight and struck details). For the finish, you should specify Electroplating options such as Antique Gold, Polished Silver, or Dual-Plating (combining two metals). Ensure the supplier uses High-Quality Enamel (Soft or Hard Enamel) to prevent color fading or cracking over time.

For designs with high relief or 3D textures, the Die-Casting process is essential. If your design is 2D with sharp lines, Die-Struck brass is more cost-effective. If your design includes photographic images or complex gradients, you must request Offset Printing with an Epoxy Coating to protect the graphic.

Ensure the supplier complies with SGS or Intertek standards, particularly regarding Lead and Nickel content to meet REACH (EU) or CPSIA (US) regulations. For corporate social responsibility, prioritize manufacturers with Sedex or BSCI audits, which are often required by government and military clients.

Standard coins are 3mm to 4mm thick. Increasing thickness adds perceived value but raises material and shipping costs. Specialized edges like Diamond Cut, Rope Edge, or Petal Edge typically add $0.20 to $0.50 per unit but significantly enhance the coin's premium feel for collectors.

When sourcing from Made-in-China.com, ensure you provide a Letter of Authorization if the design includes logos of known organizations (e.g., military branches, corporate brands). Professional suppliers will ask for this to avoid Customs seizures during export/import due to trademark violations.

Focus on the Mold Fee and Unit Price separately. For orders exceeding 5,000 units, you should negotiate to have the Mold Fee waived. Additionally, ask for a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops by 15-20% as you move from 500 to 2,000 pieces.

Always use Secure Payment services provided by the platform. Never release the final 70% balance until you have received and approved a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) report or high-resolution photos/videos of the finished batch. For large orders, hiring a third-party inspector to visit the factory in China is highly recommended.

Challenge coins are heavy; for small batches (under 50kg), Air Express (DHL/FedEx) is fastest but expensive. For bulk orders, Sea Freight (LCL) or Rail Freight (for Europe) is significantly more economical. Ensure the supplier uses Reinforced Inner Boxes and Double-Walled Outer Cartons to prevent the heavy coins from breaking through the packaging during transit.
