Exterior iron door manufacturers

When sourcing exterior iron doors, prioritize 12-gauge to 14-gauge steel for the frame and scrollwork to ensure structural integrity. Ensure the door features polyurethane foam insulation injected into the core for thermal efficiency. For the glass components, specify dual-pane tempered glass with an operable window design (independent opening) to allow for ventilation and easy cleaning without unlocking the door.

Verify that the supplier uses a multi-stage anti-rust process, including hot-dip galvanizing, an epoxy primer, and a high-quality fluorocarbon paint or powder coating. For extreme environments, request a salt spray test report (ASTM B117) to confirm the finish can withstand at least 500 to 1,000 hours of exposure without degradation.

Ensure the products meet regional building codes, such as NFRC (National Fenestration Rating Council) for energy efficiency or Florida Product Approval/NOA for high-velocity hurricane zones (HVHZ) if shipping to the US. For the European market, look for CE marking and compliance with EN 14351-1 standards regarding water tightness and wind resistance.

Most professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer customization for dimensions (standard or oversized), swing direction (inswing/outswing), and handing (left/right). You should also be able to choose from various glass textures (frosted, rain, tea, or water cube) and finish colors (oil-rubbed bronze, matte black, or copper) to match specific architectural styles.

Iron doors are heavy and prone to scratching or glass breakage. Insist on solid plywood crate packaging (no-fumigation required) rather than simple cardboard. Ensure the door is wrapped in pearl cotton and bubble wrap, and request that the supplier provides loading photos to verify the crates are properly secured within the container.

Focus on the total weight of the door and the thickness of the zinc coating rather than just the unit price. Request a tiered pricing structure based on container volume (e.g., 20GP vs. 40HQ). Since these are high-value items, negotiate a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment against the Bill of Lading (B/L) or via Trade Assurance to protect your capital.

Due to the weight (often 150kg to 300kg per unit), use FOB or CIF terms and partner with a freight forwarder experienced in oversized cargo. Ensure the supplier provides an accurate HS Code (typically 730830) to determine import duties. For US buyers, be aware of Section 301 tariffs and check if the manufacturer has a production base outside of China if tariff mitigation is required.

Always conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspection service like SGS or Intertek to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). Verify the supplier's credentials on Made-in-China.com, looking for 'Audited Supplier' status to ensure you are dealing with a legitimate factory rather than a small trading company.
