Girl shirt manufacturers

When sourcing girl shirts, prioritize natural fibers like 100% combed cotton or organic cotton for breathability and skin sensitivity. Ensure the fabric weight (GSM) is appropriate for the season—typically 140-180 GSM for summer tees and over 200 GSM for thicker shirts. Verify that the fabric has undergone anti-pilling and shrinkage treatments (standard shrinkage should be less than 5%).

Compliance is non-negotiable in the children's category. For the US market, products must comply with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act), specifically regarding lead content and phthalates in prints or buttons. For the EU, ensure adherence to REACH regulations and EN 14682, which governs the safety of drawstrings and cords on children's clothing to prevent strangulation hazards. Look for OEKO-TEX Standard 100 to guarantee the absence of harmful substances.

Focus on the 'stitch per inch' (SPI); high-quality garments usually feature 10-12 SPI. Check for overlock stitching on internal seams to prevent fraying and double-needle topstitching on necklines and hems for durability. For shirts with embellishments, ensure sequins, beads, or buttons are reinforced with extra stitching to pass pull-tests (usually 90N for 10 seconds) to prevent choking hazards.

Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com should offer OEM/ODM services. Discuss printing techniques such as screen printing, heat transfer, or eco-friendly water-based inks. Inquire about private labeling (woven neck labels vs. heat-transfer tags) and custom packaging. Ensure the supplier can provide size grading that aligns with your target market's specific charts (e.g., US, EU, or Asian sizing).

Always request a pre-production sample (PPS) before the bulk run begins. For large orders, hire a third-party inspection service (like V-Trust or SGS) to perform a During Production Check (DUPRO) or a Final Random Inspection (FRI). This ensures the 'Golden Sample' quality is maintained across the entire shipment.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Discuss tiered pricing (e.g., 500 pcs vs. 5,000 pcs) and ask for spare buttons or fabric swatches to be included at no cost. On Made-in-China.com, look for 'Audited Suppliers' to ensure you are dealing with a factory rather than a small trading company, which can lead to 10-20% cost savings.

For apparel, vacuum packaging can significantly reduce volume, lowering air freight costs. However, for high-end shirts, use standard polybags to avoid deep creasing. Clarify Incoterms clearly; FOB (Free On Board) is generally recommended for buyers with their own forwarders, while DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) is better for beginners who want the supplier to handle customs clearance and import duties.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment. Never wire the full amount upfront; a standard industry practice is a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment after the inspection is passed but before shipment. Ensure all technical specifications and delivery deadlines are documented in a formal Sales Contract.
