Glass water jug manufacturers

Prioritize High Borosilicate Glass (3.3 expansion coefficient) over soda-lime glass, as it offers superior thermal shock resistance, allowing the jug to withstand temperature fluctuations from -20°C to 150°C. Ensure the glass is lead-free and BPA-free to meet food safety standards. For the lid, look for 304 Stainless Steel or food-grade silicone seals to prevent leakage and corrosion.

Products must comply with FDA (USA) or LFGB (Germany/EU) food contact regulations. If selling in the EU, ensure adherence to Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004. For the US market, verify compliance with California Proposition 65 regarding lead and cadmium content. Always request valid test reports from accredited third-party labs like SGS or TUV.

Focus on the spout design (V-shaped or drip-free) to ensure smooth pouring without spills. The handle should be ergonomically reinforced and fused securely to the body to prevent breakage under full weight. Check for uniform wall thickness (ideally 2mm-3mm) to ensure structural integrity and avoid 'thin spots' that are prone to cracking.

Suppliers usually offer OEM/ODM services including logo printing (silk screen or decal), customized color boxes, and electroplating finishes (e.g., amber or smoky grey glass). For high-volume orders, you can request custom molds for unique shapes. Ensure the MOQ for customized packaging is clarified, as it is often higher than the product MOQ.

The main risk is breakage during transit. Insist on 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual bubble wrap or EPE foam inserts. Request a drop test report (ISTA 1A or 2A) from the supplier. For large orders, palletizing the cargo significantly reduces handling damage. Ensure the trade terms include marine insurance to cover potential losses.

Leverage tiered pricing; glass production is energy-intensive, so unit costs drop significantly as volume increases. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading Service to protect your payment. A standard term is 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L). For new suppliers, consider a pre-shipment inspection by a third party before releasing the final payment.

Check if the supplier is an Audited Supplier on Made-in-China.com. Verify their daily production output and kiln capacity to ensure they can meet your lead times, especially during peak seasons. Ask for their internal Quality Control (QC) flow chart to see how they handle bubble defects, scratches, and stress-point testing during the manufacturing process.
