Ice cream cone prop sculpture manufacturers

For outdoor durability, Fiberglass (FRP - Fiber Reinforced Plastic) is the industry standard due to its high strength-to-weight ratio and weather resistance. Ensure the sculpture uses UV-resistant automotive-grade paint and a clear gel coat to prevent fading and cracking under direct sunlight. For internal stability, large props should have a galvanized steel frame to withstand wind loads.

The sculpture must prioritize stability and safety. Request a weighted base or pre-drilled mounting holes for floor anchoring to prevent tipping in high-traffic areas. If the prop is for a 'selfie spot,' ensure the surface is scratch-resistant and the structure can support the weight of individuals leaning against it. Additionally, verify that all materials are B1 or B2 fire-rated for indoor mall compliance.

Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. You should provide Pantone color codes for precise brand matching and high-resolution vector files (AI or CDR) for logo integration. For unique textures (e.g., a 'waffle' cone vs. a 'smooth' cone), request 3D renderings or clay mold photos for approval before the final fiberglass casting begins.

Focus on surface smoothness and seam invisibility. High-quality sculptures should show no visible 'parting lines' where the molds met. The thickness of the fiberglass layers should be consistent (typically 3mm to 5mm for standard props). Ask the supplier for light-transmission tests to ensure there are no thin spots or air bubbles in the resin matrix.

The biggest risk is structural impact damage and surface abrasion during transit. To mitigate this, insist on crating with a solid wooden frame (fumigated) rather than just cardboard. The item should be wrapped in pearl cotton or bubble wrap, with internal bracing to prevent the sculpture from shifting inside the crate. Always verify the supplier's damage compensation policy before placing a deposit.

Since sculptures are 'light cargo,' you will likely be charged based on volumetric weight. To save costs, inquire if the supplier can design the prop in detachable sections (e.g., the 'scoop' separating from the 'cone') to reduce the total CBM (Cubic Meters). For large orders, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is significantly more economical than air freight, provided you account for a 30-45 day lead time.

Utilize Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to ensure your payment is held in escrow until shipping documents are verified. Conduct a factory audit or request a video inspection of the finished product before the final 70% payment. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the material specifications, packaging method, and exact dimensions to avoid 'bait and switch' tactics.

Ensure the supplier provides a Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and Bill of Lading. If the crate is wooden, a Fumigation Certificate is mandatory for most countries (like the US, UK, and EU) to pass customs. Check the HS Code (typically 3926.40 for plastic statuettes) to determine the specific import duty rates in your destination country.
