Ink for videojet price manufacturers

When sourcing alternative or OEM-compatible inks, you must prioritize viscosity, drying time, and filtration levels. Ensure the ink has a filtration precision of <0.2 microns to prevent printhead clogging. Additionally, verify the makeup fluid compatibility to ensure the chemical balance remains stable during high-speed printing cycles.

Professional B2B buyers must request a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and ensure compliance with RoHS and REACH regulations. If the ink is used for food or pharmaceutical packaging, it must meet FDA-grade or food-grade certification standards to ensure no migration of toxic substances into the product.

The price is primarily driven by the pigment quality (e.g., MEK-based vs. Ethanol-based) and the chip encryption level. Inks for newer Videojet models often require smart chips to bypass printer lockouts, which can increase the unit cost. Purchasing in bulk volumes (e.g., 20+ liters) typically allows for a 15-25% discount compared to single-cartridge pricing.

Standard industrial inks typically have a shelf life of 12 to 18 months. You should confirm that the supplier uses UV-protected, airtight packaging to prevent premature curing. Always check the production date on the batch to ensure you are not receiving aged stock that could lead to sediment buildup.

Ink is often classified as Class 3 Flammable Liquid (Dangerous Goods) due to its solvent content (like MEK). You must ensure the supplier provides a Certificate for Safe Transport of Chemical Goods. Failure to provide this can lead to customs seizure or significant delays at the port of exit.

Request a small-batch sample (e.g., 1 liter) for a trial run on your specific Videojet model before committing to a large order. Negotiate a Quality Assurance Agreement that specifies a refund or replacement policy if the ink causes printhead deflection or hardware errors within the first 30 days of use.

Use Secured Trading Services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payment. Do not release the full payment until the third-party inspection report confirms the volume, batch numbers, and leak-proof packaging integrity.

For small quantities, specialized chemical couriers (like FedEx/DHL with DG handling) are necessary but expensive. For bulk orders, Sea Freight with a Dangerous Goods (DG) container is the most economical choice. Ensure your freight forwarder is experienced in handling IMO Class 3 shipments to avoid port penalties.
