Lavender fragrance oil manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize the Flash Point, which affects shipping safety and manufacturing temperatures, and the Specific Gravity to ensure consistency in formulations. For high-quality applications, verify the Refractive Index and ensure the oil is 100% Phthalate-free and Paraben-free to meet modern consumer safety demands. If the product is for candles, confirm the Cold and Hot Throw performance; for cosmetics, ensure it is IFRA (International Fragrance Association) compliant.

It is critical to understand that Lavender Essential Oil is steam-distilled from plants and used for aromatherapy, while Lavender Fragrance Oil is a synthetic or semi-synthetic blend designed for scent longevity and stability. Fragrance oils are generally more cost-effective for bulk manufacturing of soaps, candles, and detergents because they maintain a consistent scent profile that does not degrade as easily under high heat compared to pure essential oils.

For the US market, products must align with TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act) regulations. For the EU, compliance with REACH and the CLP Regulation (Classification, Labelling and Packaging) is mandatory. Always request a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) from the supplier to verify chemical composition and safety hazards.

A lower-priced oil may actually be more expensive if it has a low fragrance load. High-concentrate oils (often labeled as 'Professional Grade' or 'Ultra-Strong') allow for a lower usage rate (e.g., 3-6% in wax) compared to diluted versions (requiring 10%+). Calculate your cost-per-finished-unit rather than just the price per kilogram to determine true economic value.

Fragrance oils are often classified as Class 3 Flammable Liquids or Environmentally Hazardous Substances depending on their flash point. You must ensure the supplier provides a UN-rated packaging and a Dangerous Goods (DG) Declaration. For cost-efficiency, sourcing via Sea Freight (LCL/FCL) is preferred over Air Freight, as airlines have strict volume limits and high surcharges for liquid chemicals.

Request that the supplier uses Fluorinated HDPE bottles or epoxy-lined aluminum canisters to prevent the fragrance from reacting with the plastic or leaking. Ensure the batch number on the COA matches the labels on the drums. To prevent oxidation, specify that containers should be nitrogen-flushed before sealing if the transit time exceeds 30 days.

Start by requesting a 50ml - 100ml sample to conduct a 'burn test' or 'application test.' Negotiate based on Tiered Pricing; for example, a price break at 100kg, 500kg, and 1000kg. Ask the supplier if they offer custom scent profiling (duplication) if you have a specific benchmark fragrance, which can provide a competitive edge in your local market.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by professional platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. For large bulk orders, consider a Third-Party Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify the volume and seal integrity before the container leaves the factory.
