Lingerie fabrics lace manufacturers

When selecting lace, prioritize composition and elasticity. For stretch lace, a blend of 80-90% Nylon (Polyamide) and 10-20% Spandex (Elastane) is standard for recovery and comfort. Ensure the weight (GSM) aligns with the garment type: lightweight lace (30-60 GSM) for decorative overlays and medium-weight (70-120 GSM) for functional panels. Additionally, verify the width (effective cutting width) to minimize fabric wastage during production.

Lingerie lace must meet strict chemical safety standards due to direct skin contact. Ensure suppliers provide OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, which guarantees the fabric is free from harmful substances. For the EU market, compliance with REACH regulations is essential, while US-bound goods must adhere to CPSIA standards regarding lead and phthalate content in trims.

Request a colorfastness test report (aim for Grade 4 or higher) to ensure dyes do not bleed onto the skin or other garments. Check for bursting strength to prevent tearing under tension and evaluate the hand-feel (softness) to ensure it does not cause skin irritation. Inspect the selvage (edges) for clean finishing to prevent fraying during the sewing process.

Raschel lace is the most common for mass production due to its high speed and cost-effectiveness. Jacquardtronic lace offers a more intricate, flat appearance similar to handmade lace but at a lower price point. Leavers lace is the most premium and expensive, characterized by its delicate complexity and high stitch density, typically reserved for luxury couture brands.

Always request a pre-production sample (PPS) for approval before the bulk run begins. Utilize third-party inspection services (like those offered through Made-in-China.com) to conduct a 'During Production Check' (DUPRO) to verify color consistency across different dye lots, as color shading is a frequent issue in textile manufacturing.

Lace production is often restricted by machine setups; therefore, MOQs are usually 500-1000 yards per color. To lower costs, try to consolidate your designs to use the same base greige fabric with different dye colors. Negotiate for tiered pricing, where a 20-30% discount is applied when moving from sample yardage to bulk production volumes.

Lace is susceptible to snagging and moisture. Insist that the supplier uses double-layer packaging: an inner polybag to prevent moisture ingress and a sturdy outer carton or woven bag. For high-value lace, Air Freight is recommended to reduce transit time and the risk of mildew, whereas Sea Freight is more economical for large-scale bulk rolls provided silica gel desiccant packs are included.

Use secure payment methods such as Escrow or Trade Assurance services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the technical specifications, lead times, and dispute resolution protocols before making the initial deposit (typically 30%).
