Metal storage cabinet with doors manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize Cold-Rolled Steel (SPCC) over hot-rolled steel for better surface smoothness and structural integrity. The material thickness is critical; for industrial use, a gauge of 0.6mm to 0.8mm (after coating) is standard, while heavy-duty applications may require 1.0mm+. Additionally, verify the load-bearing capacity per shelf, which typically ranges from 40kg to 100kg, and ensure the use of electrostatic powder coating for superior scratch and corrosion resistance.

Look for suppliers who comply with ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental standards. For specific markets, ensure the product meets BIFMA (Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association) standards for stability and durability. If the cabinets are intended for laboratory or chemical storage, verify SEFA compliance and check for fire-resistant certifications.

High-security requirements necessitate a three-point locking system that secures the door at the top, bottom, and center. Evaluate the key management system, such as 'master key' capabilities for office environments. For hardware, ensure the hinges are concealed or reinforced to prevent tampering, and check if the shelves are adjustable with high-strength steel clips to prevent accidental collapse.

Knock-Down (KD) structures are highly recommended for cross-border e-commerce as they significantly reduce shipping volumes and costs (up to 70% savings in freight). However, they require clear assembly instructions or video guides. All-Welded structures offer maximum rigidity and are ready to use upon arrival but incur much higher logistics costs and a higher risk of denting during transit.

Metal cabinets are prone to denting and scratching. You must mandate 5-layer corrugated export cartons with ISTA 3A drop-test packaging standards. Require the supplier to use honeycomb cardboard protectors, PE foam corners, and plastic strapping. For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, insist on pallets to minimize manual handling damage.

Focus on the net weight of the product rather than just the price, as some suppliers reduce steel thickness to cut costs. Request a detailed breakdown of the coating type (e.g., epoxy vs. polyester). For large orders, negotiate a 1-3% spare parts allowance for components like locks, keys, and plastic handles, which are easily lost or broken during distribution.

Prioritize 'Audited Suppliers' who have undergone on-site inspections by third-party agencies like SGS or Bureau Veritas. Review their Audit Reports specifically for production capacity and specialized machinery (like CNC laser cutters and automated spray lines). Use the Secured Trading Service on Made-in-China.com to ensure payment safety and order compliance.

Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) which some regions (like the US or EU) may impose on Chinese steel furniture; always verify the HS Code (typically 9403.10) with your customs broker. For shipping, FOB (Free On Board) is generally preferred for B2B buyers to maintain control over freight costs and timelines, especially when consolidating multiple orders.
