N120 battery price manufacturers

The N120 is a standard 12V 120Ah battery typically used for heavy-duty trucks and marine engines. When comparing prices, you must verify the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA), which should ideally be between 800A and 900A for reliable starting. Additionally, check the Reserve Capacity (RC) and whether the plates are made of Lead-Antimony (Dry Charged) or Lead-Calcium (Maintenance Free), as the latter usually commands a 10-15% price premium due to lower self-discharge rates.

Lead constitutes approximately 60-70% of the total production cost. Therefore, N120 battery prices are highly sensitive to LME (London Metal Exchange) lead price fluctuations. Buyers should look for suppliers who offer transparent pricing formulas linked to lead indices. Furthermore, the purity of the lead (99.994%+) and the thickness of the grids directly impact the lifespan and, consequently, the unit price.

To ensure safety and quality, prioritize suppliers with ISO 9001 for manufacturing and ISO 14001 for environmental management. For specific markets, ensure the batteries meet CE (Europe), UL (USA), or SONCAP (Nigeria) standards. Since batteries contain hazardous materials, a valid MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and UN38.3 test report are essential for legal cross-border transport.

N120 batteries are primarily designed for commercial vehicles, tractors, and generators. A high-quality N120 battery should support at least 300-500 cycles at 50% Depth of Discharge (DOD). For tropical climates, ensure the casing is made of high-impact polypropylene to withstand heat and vibration, which prevents premature plate shedding.

The most significant risk is weight fraud, where suppliers use thinner lead plates or add glass/plastic weights to mimic a heavy, high-capacity battery. Always verify the net weight (typically 22kg to 28kg depending on dry/wet type). Another risk is electrolyte leakage during transit; ensure the supplier uses seaworthy packaging with acid-resistant pallets and shrink-wrap.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the FOB price. Negotiate for a longer warranty period (12-24 months) and ask for a 1-2% spare parts allowance (extra batteries) to cover potential DOA (Dead on Arrival) units. For large orders, request a staged payment plan (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% against BL copy) to maintain leverage.

Lead-acid batteries are classified as Class 8 Dangerous Goods (UN2794 or UN2800). You must use a freight forwarder certified to handle DG cargo. Shipping 'Dry Charged' (without acid) is often cheaper and safer for long-distance maritime transport, as it avoids strict liquid chemical regulations and has an indefinite shelf life until the acid is added locally.

Utilize secured payment services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until shipment. It is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI), specifically checking the open-circuit voltage, load test performance, and physical dimensions against the proforma invoice.
