Pearl diamond pendant manufacturers

When sourcing pearls, you must evaluate the '5 S' criteria: Size, Shape, Surface, Shine (Luster), and Substance (Nacre thickness). For B2B procurement, prioritize AAA grade pearls with a mirror-like luster and minimal surface blemishes (less than 5%). Ensure the nacre thickness is sufficient to prevent peeling, especially for South Sea or Tahitian varieties, which should ideally have a nacre thickness of >0.8mm.

Diamonds must be assessed based on the 4Cs: Carat, Cut, Color, and Clarity. For pendants, a 'Very Good' to 'Excellent' cut is essential to maximize light reflection. Ensure the supplier provides GIA, IGI, or NGTC certifications for stones over 0.3 carats. For small 'melee' diamonds used in pavé settings, verify that they are conflict-free and meet the Kimberley Process requirements.

The setting should be made of precious metals like 18K Gold (750) or Platinum (Pt950). It is critical to ensure the alloy is Nickel-free and Lead-free to comply with EU REACH regulations and US CPSIA standards. Always request a precious metal hallmark and a third-party metallurgical test report to confirm the gold purity matches the invoice.

Examine the setting technique; for pearls, a threaded post with high-quality jewelry epoxy is more secure than glue alone. For diamonds, prong settings should be symmetrical and smooth to avoid snagging. The bail (the loop for the chain) must be reinforced to support the weight of the pearl, and soldering points should be invisible and polished to a high shine.

To avoid 'lab-grown' diamonds being mixed with natural ones, utilize Made-in-China.com's 'Audited Supplier' reports. Request a random sampling inspection by a third-party agency like SGS or Intertek before final payment. Implementing a secured payment method that holds funds until the inspection report is verified is a standard industry safeguard.

Jewelry pricing is volatile due to fluctuating gold and gemstone market rates. Negotiate a 'labor cost + material market price' formula rather than a fixed unit price for long-term contracts. For new designs, seek an MOQ of 5-10 pieces per style to test the market, and request volume-based rebates (typically 5-10%) once annual order volumes exceed a specific threshold.

Always use specialized courier services like FedEx or DHL with 'High-Value Goods' handling. It is mandatory to purchase Full Value Insurance covering 'door-to-door' risks. Ensure the packaging is discreet and tamper-evident, avoiding any mention of 'jewelry' or 'diamonds' on the outer shipping label to prevent theft during transit.

Check the HS Code (typically 7113.19) for your specific country to calculate import duties and VAT. Be aware of anti-dumping duties or specific luxury taxes. Ensure the supplier provides a detailed Commercial Invoice and Certificate of Origin, which may allow for preferential tariff rates under certain Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
