Polyester hoodies for women manufacturers

When sourcing polyester hoodies, the GSM (Grams per Square Meter) is the most critical indicator of quality. For lightweight spring/summer hoodies, look for 180-220 GSM; for standard autumn wear, 280-320 GSM is ideal. While 100% polyester offers excellent durability and color retention, consider a Polyester-Spandex blend (e.g., 95% poly, 5% spandex) to provide the stretch and recovery necessary for activewear and better fit.

For functional apparel, ensure the supplier uses moisture-wicking and quick-dry technologies. Verify if the fabric has undergone anti-pilling treatments (Grade 3-4 minimum) to prevent surface wear after washing. If the hoodies are intended for outdoor use, inquire about UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) ratings and water-resistant coatings (DWR) to increase the product's market value.

Compliance is non-negotiable in cross-border trade. For the US market, products must comply with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) regarding lead content and phthalates, and 16 CFR Part 1610 for flammability. For the EU, ensure the garments meet REACH regulations for chemical safety and carry the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification to guarantee the absence of harmful substances in the synthetic fibers.

Focus on the stitching and hardware. Look for flatlock seams or double-needle topstitching to ensure durability at high-stress points like armpits and pockets. Check the zipper brand (e.g., YKK or SBS) and ensure the drawstring aglets are securely attached. For hoodies with prints, verify the wash-fastness of the heat transfer or screen printing to prevent cracking or peeling.

Always utilize third-party inspection services (such as V-Trust or SGS) to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). Never release the final 70% balance payment until the inspection report confirms the goods meet your specified AQL (Acceptable Quality Level). For secure transactions, use the Star Security Service on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment and ensure order fulfillment.

For orders exceeding 200kg, Sea Freight (LCL - Less than Container Load) is the most economical option, though it has longer lead times (30-45 days). If you need to balance speed and cost, Sea-to-Truck (Matson/ZIM) services offer a middle ground. For small trial orders or samples, International Express (DHL/FedEx) is preferred for its door-to-door convenience and fast customs clearance.

Suppliers often have high MOQs for custom-dyed fabrics. To lower the MOQ, ask the supplier to use stock colors (Ready-to-Ship fabrics), which can often reduce the requirement from 500 pieces to 50-100 pieces per color. Negotiate a sample fee refund policy where the cost of the prototype is deducted from your first bulk order once a certain volume is reached.

Ensure the HS Code (typically 6110.30 for synthetic hoodies) is correctly declared on the Commercial Invoice and Packing List to avoid customs delays or incorrect duty charges. Verify that the Country of Origin (COO) labels are sewn into the garments as per the destination country's labeling laws to prevent the shipment from being seized or rejected at the border.
