Rebonded foam mattress price manufacturers

The primary price driver is density, typically measured in kg/m³. Higher density (e.g., 80kg/m³ to 120kg/m³) indicates better support and longevity, commanding a higher price. You must also verify the compression set, which should be less than 5% to ensure the mattress doesn't sag over time. Additionally, check if the foam is CFR 1633 or BS 7177 flame retardant compliant, as specialized chemical treatments will increase the unit cost but are mandatory for many international markets.

Rebonded foam is made from recycled polyurethane scraps bonded with an adhesive. Because of its high firmness and shock-absorption properties, it is ideal for orthopedic mattresses, gym mats, and budget-friendly hospitality bedding. For B2B buyers, it is crucial to ensure the adhesive used is eco-friendly (low VOC) to avoid 'chemical smells' that can lead to consumer returns in residential scenarios.

For the US market, ensure the supplier provides CertiPUR-US® certification, which guarantees the foam is made without ozone depleters or heavy metals. For the European market, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is the benchmark for textile safety. Always request Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to verify the chemical composition of the bonding agents used in the 'rebonding' process.

Perform a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis. A lower-priced mattress may use lower-grade scrap or excessive fillers (like calcium carbonate), which reduces durability. It is often more economical to pay a 10-15% premium for a mattress with a 5-year warranty and vacuum-compressed packaging, which significantly reduces ocean freight costs by maximizing container utilization.

The biggest risk is 'core substitution,' where a supplier provides a high-density sample but uses lower-density foam for the bulk order. To mitigate this, use third-party inspection services to perform a random weight check before shipment; since density equals mass/volume, a lighter-than-expected pallet is a red flag for quality fraud. Another risk is moisture damage during sea transit; ensure all mattresses are hermetically sealed in PE bags.

Focus on transparency regarding the scrap-to-binder ratio. Ask for a breakdown of the polyurethane content versus the adhesive percentage. Negotiate based on volume-tiered pricing (e.g., 20GP vs. 40HQ containers). For long-term partnerships, request 'Price Protection' clauses that buffer against fluctuations in the global price of TDI and Polyol, which are the raw chemical components of foam.

Utilize Trade Assurance or Secure Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until the Bill of Lading (B/L) is issued. For shipping, choose FOB (Free On Board) terms if you have a reliable freight forwarder, as this gives you control over the demurrage and detention periods at the destination port. Ensure the supplier provides a Fumigation Certificate if the mattresses are packed on wooden pallets to avoid customs delays.
