B2B buyers must ensure products are made from 100% medical-grade silicone or body-safe TPE/TPR. It is critical to verify that the materials are phthalate-free, non-porous, and hypoallergenic. Request FDA or LFGB certification reports from the supplier to guarantee that the chemical composition meets international health standards for skin-contact items.

For motorized products, focus on noise levels (ideally <50dB) and battery longevity. Ensure the product uses lithium-ion rechargeable batteries with magnetic charging ports to maintain a 100% waterproof rating (IPX7 or higher). This ensures both user discretion and ease of cleaning, which are primary selling points in the retail market.

Request tensile strength test reports to ensure the material does not tear at stress points, especially for products with intricate 'animal-themed' textures or protrusions. The Shore A hardness scale should be specified (typically 30A to 50A for a realistic feel) to balance flexibility with structural durability during repeated use.

For the US market, ensure compliance with California Proposition 65 regarding lead and phthalate content. For the EU, CE marking and RoHS compliance are mandatory for electronic components to ensure they do not contain hazardous substances. Always check for REACH registration to confirm the absence of SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern).

Customs regulations for adult novelties vary significantly by country. Use neutral HS Codes (such as 9019.10 for massage apparatus) and ensure all packaging is discreet and unbranded on the exterior. Avoid explicit imagery on the outer shipping cartons to prevent customs seizures or delays in conservative jurisdictions.

When sourcing via Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers with a history of at least 3-5 years. Negotiate for a staggered payment structure (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% after third-party inspection but before shipping). Request a Quality Assurance Agreement that defines the acceptable defect rate (AQL 1.5 or 2.5) and specifies the remedy for non-compliant batches.

Utilize Secure Payment services provided by the platform to hold funds in escrow. Hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). The inspector should check for seam smoothness, motor function, and packaging integrity to ensure the goods match the approved sample.

For high-value or battery-operated items, Air Freight with a specialized DG (Dangerous Goods) courier is recommended to handle lithium batteries safely. For bulk orders, Sea Freight is more economical, but ensure the use of desiccant packs in the containers to prevent moisture damage to the electronics and silicone during long transit times.
