Buyers should prioritize TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) or Medical-Grade Silicone. TPE is more cost-effective and soft, offering a realistic skin feel, while Silicone is more durable, heat-resistant, and non-porous, making it easier to sanitize. Ensure the internal skeleton is made of stainless steel or reinforced aluminum to allow for a wide range of motion and long-term structural integrity.

Products must comply with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and RoHS standards to ensure they are free from harmful phthalates and heavy metals. For dolls with electronic heating or vibration functions, CE and FCC certifications are essential to guarantee electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility.

Request a video demonstration of the joint flexibility to ensure the doll can hold various positions without the skeleton protruding. Verify the density of the filling material; high-quality dolls use a multi-layer casting process to prevent 'hollow' spots. For smart models, confirm the battery life and charging safety protocols for integrated heating elements.

Look for suppliers offering modular customization, including interchangeable heads, adjustable skin tones, and varied eye colors. Advanced features like integrated AI voice modules, internal heating systems, and realistic skin textures (goosebumps/veins) can significantly increase the retail value and appeal to premium market segments.

Adult products are often classified as 'sensitive goods.' Ensure the supplier uses discreet packaging without explicit images or text. Use the correct HS Code (typically 950300 or 392690) and verify the legality of the product design in the destination country to avoid customs seizure or legal complications regarding 'obscene' materials.

For bulk orders, aim for a 15-25% discount compared to sample prices. Negotiate a tiered pricing structure based on annual volume rather than a single order. When sourcing via Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers and request a Factory Audit Report to ensure the manufacturer has the capacity to maintain consistency across large batches.

Always utilize Secured Payment services provided by reputable B2B platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Avoid direct wire transfers to unknown accounts. Implement a third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI) to check for skin tears, oil leakage, or mechanical failures before the balance is paid.

Due to the weight (often 20kg-50kg), Sea Freight (LCL) is the most economical for bulk, but for faster turnaround, specialized air lines for sensitive goods are required. Ensure the supplier uses reinforced wooden crates or thickened five-layer corrugated boxes with custom foam inserts to prevent deformation during long-transit maritime shipping.
