Safety is the highest priority. You must ensure products are made from medical-grade silicone, TPE, or ABS plastic. Avoid materials containing phthalates, which are restricted in many regions. Request RoHS and REACH certification to ensure the absence of hazardous chemicals, and verify that the supplier complies with ISO 10993 (Biological evaluation of medical devices) for skin-contact safety.

Focus on the motor noise level (ideally below 50dB) and battery stability. Ensure electronic items use rechargeable lithium batteries with UN38.3 and MSDS certification for safe international transport. For waterproof claims, verify the IPX7 rating, which allows for immersion in water, rather than just splash-proof IPX4.

For the US market, ensure the supplier is FDA registered if the product is classified as a medical device. For the EU market, the CE mark is mandatory, and products must comply with the EMC Directive for electromagnetic compatibility. Always check for WEEE registration regarding the disposal of electronic waste.

Request cycle testing reports for the motors and buttons to ensure they last for at least 500+ uses. Additionally, verify the discreetness of the vibration patterns and the tactile feel of the finish (e.g., soft-touch PU coating). Ask for samples to test the ergonomic design and ease of cleaning.

Adult products are often flagged as 'sensitive goods' by customs. To minimize risk, use neutral descriptions on commercial invoices (e.g., 'Massager' or 'Personal Care Device'). Ensure your shipping partner is experienced in handling Category 9 (Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods) if the items contain lithium batteries.

Focus on MOQ flexibility for trial orders to test market response. Negotiate for OEM/Private Labeling services, as branding is crucial in this niche. Demand a Quality Assurance Agreement that specifies a defect rate of less than 1%, with a clear policy for replacements or refunds on faulty units.

Use Secured Trading Services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payments until the goods are inspected. Request discreet packaging (plain brown boxes with no suggestive labeling) even for the master cartons to prevent theft or social stigma during the logistics chain.

For small batches, Air Express (DHL/FedEx) is fastest but requires strict battery documentation. For bulk orders, Sea Freight (LCL/FCL) is most cost-effective. Always choose a logistics provider that offers DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms to avoid unexpected tax hurdles for your end customers or local warehouse.
