Shipping service to saudi arabia manufacturers

Buyers can choose between Air Freight, Sea Freight (FCL/LCL), and Rail/Land transport via the Middle East corridor. Sea Freight is the most cost-effective for bulk goods, typically arriving at ports like Jeddah Islamic Port or King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. Air Freight is recommended for high-value or time-sensitive electronics and fashion, offering a lead time of 3-7 days.

All shipments must comply with SABER platform requirements. You must ensure products have a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) and meet SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization) technical regulations. Failure to register products on the SABER system will result in customs clearance delays or heavy fines.

The initiative has streamlined customs through the 'FASAH' platform, enabling 24-hour clearance for pre-cleared shipments. It is vital to work with a freight forwarder who is integrated with Saudi digital customs systems to benefit from reduced transit times and automated documentation processing.

Labels must be in Arabic or bilingual (Arabic/English). The Country of Origin (e.g., 'Made in China') must be non-removable (engraved or printed, not a sticker). For food or chemicals, expiry dates and storage conditions must be clearly visible to pass SFDA (Saudi Food and Drug Authority) inspections.

The biggest risk is Customs Rejection due to incomplete SABER certification. Mitigate this by verifying the HS Code with your supplier before shipping. Another risk is Demurrage Charges at Jeddah port; ensure your forwarder offers at least 14 days of free detention time to allow for potential administrative delays.

Request DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms if you lack a local Saudi import license, as the forwarder will handle all taxes and duties. For experienced importers, CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) is standard. Always ask for a breakdown of 'Local Charges' at the destination to avoid hidden fees upon arrival.

Use the Audit Reports and Trust Points on Made-in-China.com to verify the forwarder's legitimacy. Only release the Bill of Lading (B/L) or authorize a Telex Release once you have confirmed the vessel has departed and all financial obligations are met. Utilize Trade Assurance services where possible.

Saudi Arabia applies a 15% Value Added Tax (VAT) on the total landed cost (CIF value + Customs Duty). Ensure your Tax Identification Number (TIN) is correctly listed on all commercial invoices to facilitate VAT recovery for your business and avoid double taxation.
