Ss 304 stainless steel wire mesh manufacturers

When evaluating SS 304 wire mesh, you must prioritize Mesh Count (number of openings per linear inch), Wire Diameter, and Aperture (opening size). For industrial filtration, ensure the weaving type (Plain, Twill, or Dutch weave) matches your pressure requirements. Always verify the chemical composition, specifically ensuring a minimum Chromium content of 18% and Nickel content of 8% to guarantee the corrosion resistance characteristic of Grade 304.

Request a Material Test Report (MTR) or a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) according to EN 10204 3.1 standards. For high-precision applications, ensure the product meets ASTM E2016-15 (Standard Specification for Industrial Woven Wire Cloth). You may also request a PMI (Positive Material Identification) test using an XRF analyzer before shipment to confirm it is not a lower-grade 201 stainless steel, which is prone to rusting.

Selection depends heavily on the environment. For food processing, ensure the mesh is burr-free and polished to meet food safety standards. For architectural or security screening, focus on tensile strength and surface finish (2B or Bright). If the mesh is used for chemical filtration, confirm the acid and alkali resistance levels, as 304 is suitable for most organic chemicals but may require 316 grade for high-salinity marine environments.

Establish a tolerance limit for wire diameter (typically ±3% to ±5%) and mesh count accuracy. Inspect for weaving defects such as broken wires, oil stains, or 'cloudy' patches which indicate uneven tension. For rolls, ensure the edge treatment (selvage vs. raw edge) is consistent to prevent unraveling during your manufacturing process.

This is the most common risk in steel procurement. Utilize third-party inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to perform on-site sampling. On Made-in-China.com, prioritize 'Audited Suppliers' who have undergone verified on-site inspections. Always include the specific chemical element percentages in your Proforma Invoice (PI) to provide legal recourse in case of disputes.

Focus on Total Landed Cost rather than just the EXW price. Negotiate based on weight vs. square meter pricing to ensure transparency. Ask for volume-based discounts; typically, orders exceeding 50 rolls or 500 square meters qualify for a 10-15% price reduction. Clarify packaging standards—insist on waterproof paper and wooden crates to prevent sea-salt corrosion and physical deformation during transit.

Stainless steel products can be subject to anti-dumping duties in certain regions (e.g., EU or USA). Check your local HS Code (typically 7314.14) for applicable tariffs. For shipping, FCL (Full Container Load) is safer for mesh rolls to avoid crushing by other heavy cargo in LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to help reduce import duties under specific trade agreements.

Avoid making full payments upfront to unknown entities. Use Secured Trading Services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure your payment is held in escrow until shipping documents are verified. A standard payment structure is 30% T/T deposit and 70% upon presentation of the Bill of Lading (B/L) copy after quality confirmation.
