Steel scourer iron sponge manufacturers

The most critical factor is the material grade. For high-end B2B needs, Stainless Steel 410 or 430 is preferred as it is rust-resistant and durable. Lower-cost options often use high-zinc galvanized wire, which is prone to oxidation. Ensure the wire diameter is typically between 0.12mm and 0.15mm to balance scrubbing power with surface safety.

Quality is determined by the internal spiral structure and weight consistency. A high-quality scourer should be made from a single continuous wire to prevent shedding or unraveling during use. You should verify the unit weight (e.g., 15g, 20g, or 40g) as suppliers often fluctuate weight to adjust prices. Request a salt spray test report to confirm the anti-rust capabilities.

For international trade, ensure the products comply with REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) to guarantee no harmful heavy metals are present. If the scourers are intended for food service environments, they should meet FDA or LFGB food-grade contact safety guidelines to ensure no toxic residues are left on cookware.

Steel scourers are primarily used for heavy-duty industrial cleaning, commercial kitchens, and household cookware. For delicate surfaces, look for copper-coated versions or 'soft' steel sponges. For industrial applications, prioritize large-diameter rolls or high-density sponges that can withstand high-friction mechanical cleaning.

Always request pre-shipment inspections (PSI). Since steel scourers are susceptible to moisture, ensure the supplier uses moisture-proof packaging (such as vacuum sealing or silica gel desiccant) within the master cartons. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure payment is only released after quality verification.

Steel scourers are a commodity-priced item heavily influenced by raw material (steel wire) costs. Negotiate based on annual volume rather than single orders to secure a 5-10% discount. For startups, look for suppliers on Made-in-China.com that offer flexible MOQs (e.g., 5,000 units) but be prepared for higher unit costs compared to full container loads (FCL).

Steel scourers have a high volume-to-weight ratio, meaning they take up significant space. To optimize shipping costs, request compressed packaging to reduce the cubic meter (CBM) measurement. Ensure the Incoterms are clearly defined; FOB (Free On Board) is generally recommended for buyers who have their own freight forwarders to better control the logistics timeline and local port charges.

Verify the supplier's Business License and Audit Reports directly on their Made-in-China.com profile. Prioritize 'Audited Suppliers' who have undergone third-party verification by agencies like SGS or Bureau Veritas. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts; always use official corporate bank accounts listed on the platform.
