Used cat 312b excavator manufacturers

Buyers should focus on the Cat 3064T engine performance, ensuring it meets the original 84 hp (63 kW) net power output. It is critical to inspect the hydraulic system pressure and flow rates, as the 312b relies on a dual-pump system for multi-function efficiency. Check the undercarriage wear percentage (links, rollers, and idlers); a remaining life of above 50% is ideal for immediate deployment. Additionally, verify the operating weight (approx. 12,500 kg) to ensure it matches your logistical transport capabilities.

Examine the boom, arm, and bucket for any signs of welding repairs or stress cracks, which indicate past overloading. Request the hour meter reading and cross-reference it with the wear on the foot pedals and joysticks to ensure the hours are authentic. A comprehensive maintenance log showing regular oil and filter changes every 250-500 hours is a strong indicator of a well-kept machine. Always check for leaks in the final drive and swing motor area.

The Cat 312b is an older model, typically falling under Tier 1 or Tier 2 emission standards. You must verify if the destination country allows the import of non-road mobile machinery with these emission levels. For example, EPA-regulated regions (USA) or Stage V zones (EU) may have strict restrictions or require DPF retrofitting. Ensure the machine has a visible VIN/Serial Number plate for customs verification and ownership transfer.

The Cat 312b is a versatile small-to-medium excavator ideal for urban construction, landscaping, and utility piping. Its compact footprint allows for operation in confined spaces where larger machines cannot maneuver. Its primary functional advantage is the balance of fuel economy and breakout force, making it highly economically feasible for contractors focusing on residential earthworks or small-scale drainage projects.

Engage a professional third-party inspection service (such as SGS or CCIC) to conduct an on-site evaluation before final payment. Request a video of the machine performing a 'cold start' and a full cycle test (lifting, swinging, and traveling). On Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers who provide detailed inspection reports and have a history of exporting heavy equipment.

Negotiate based on the replacement cost of wear-and-tear parts. If the tracks or bucket teeth are worn, use this to justify a 5-10% price reduction. Always clarify the Incoterms; for heavy machinery, FOB (Free On Board) is often preferred to allow the buyer control over the specialized heavy-lift shipping. Ensure the contract specifies that the engine and main pump are free from major defects at the time of loading.

The most common methods are Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) or Flat Rack containers. RoRo is generally safer for the machine's structure as it is driven onto the vessel. If using a 40HC container, the cabin or arm may need to be disassembled to fit, which increases labor costs for reassembly at the destination. Ensure the machine is thoroughly cleaned of soil to pass stringent biosecurity and quarantine inspections in countries like Australia or the USA.

Use Secured Payment services provided by reputable B2B platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment (Bill of Lading). Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Ensure all original titles, de-registration documents, and commercial invoices are sent via express courier to facilitate smooth customs clearance.
