Used hyundai 220 9 excavator manufacturers

When sourcing a used Hyundai 220-9, you must verify the engine model (typically Cummins B5.9-C), ensuring it meets your local emission standards (Tier 2 or Tier 3). Check the operating weight (approx. 21,900 kg) and bucket capacity (0.9 - 1.1 m³) to ensure it fits your project needs. Crucially, request the actual working hours; a well-maintained unit should ideally have under 5,000 to 8,000 hours for long-term ROI.

Request a high-definition video showing the hydraulic pump performance under load. Look for signs of oil leakage around the main valve and cylinders. For structural integrity, ask for close-up photos of the boom, arm, and bucket connection points to check for cracks or excessive welding repairs. Ensure the swing motor operates smoothly without unusual noise, as this is a high-cost repair item.

Ensure the supplier provides the Original Certificate of Conformity, the Maintenance Log, and a Clean Title to prove the machine is not encumbered. For international trade, verify the EPA or CE marking depending on your region. On Made-in-China.com, prioritize suppliers who offer Audited Supplier reports to verify their physical yard and business legitimacy.

The Hyundai 220-9 is a versatile medium-sized excavator ideal for earthmoving, road construction, and large-scale landscaping. Its balance of fuel efficiency and breakout force makes it a favorite for rental fleets and general contractors who require a reliable machine that is easier to repair due to the global availability of Hyundai and Cummins spare parts.

Always hire a third-party inspection service (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct an on-site evaluation before final payment. Never rely solely on photos. Use Secure Payment services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after the Bill of Lading is verified and the pre-shipment inspection is passed.

Negotiate based on the replacement cost of wear parts. If the undercarriage (tracks, rollers, idlers) is worn more than 40%, use this as leverage to request a price reduction of $2,000-$4,000 or ask the supplier to replace the track shoes before shipping. Always clarify if the quoted price is FOB (Free on Board) or CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight).

For a 22-ton excavator, Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) shipping is the safest method to prevent structural damage during loading. Alternatively, a 40ft Flat Rack container can be used. Ensure the supplier applies anti-corrosion wax to the chrome cylinders and exposed metal to prevent sea salt erosion during the long-distance ocean transit.

Check your country's import age restrictions; some nations prohibit used machinery older than 5 or 10 years. Ensure the machine is professionally cleaned of all soil and debris before export to pass quarantine and biosecurity inspections (e.g., Australia's DAFF or US CBP), avoiding costly fumigation fees or entry rejection.
