Used mascot costumes manufacturers

When sourcing used mascot costumes, hygiene is the top priority. Ensure the supplier provides a professional disinfection certificate or proof of ozone sterilization. You should specifically check the interior lining for sweat stains, mold, or odors. It is recommended to prioritize costumes with removable and washable inner linings to facilitate ongoing maintenance and user safety.

The head is the most critical component. Verify that the internal helmet or harness is secure and adjustable. Check the visibility ports (usually mesh) for tears and ensure the ventilation system (built-in fans) is fully functional. For used items, ask for videos showing the structural stability of the foam or EPE frame to ensure it hasn't become brittle or deformed over time.

Look for high-quality short-pile plush or fleece fabrics, as these hide wear better than long-hair faux fur. Ensure the soles of the mascot feet are made of thick, anti-slip EVA or rubber, especially if they have been worn outdoors. Confirm that the stitching at high-stress points (armpits, crotch, and neck) has been reinforced or repaired professionally.

Yes, you must be extremely cautious regarding IP infringement. Avoid purchasing used costumes that resemble trademarked characters (e.g., Disney or Sanrio) unless you have documented proof of licensing. For safety compliance, ensure the materials meet flame retardant standards (such as EN71-2 or ASTM D1230), which is particularly vital for costumes used in public events or children's parties.

Request a real-time video inspection of the specific units you are purchasing, rather than relying on stock photos. Use a third-party inspection service to verify the 'Grade' of the costume (e.g., Grade A: Like New, Grade B: Minor Wear). Always conduct transactions through secure payment channels on Made-in-China.com to ensure your funds are protected until the goods are verified.

Mascot costumes are 'light foam' goods, meaning they are charged by volumetric weight. To save costs, ask the supplier to vacuum-pack the body suit, but the head must be packed in a rigid, double-walled corrugated box with internal padding to prevent crushing. For international shipping, Sea Freight (LCL) is most economical, but Air Freight is safer for delicate, high-value custom heads.

Different countries have strict regulations on importing used textiles. Ensure the Commercial Invoice clearly states 'Used Mascot Costume for Commercial Display' and includes the correct HS Code (typically 9505.90). Some regions may require a Fumigation Certificate; confirm this with your local customs broker before the shipment departs to avoid costly port delays.

Focus on bulk volume discounts; since these are used items, suppliers often have higher margins for negotiation compared to new builds. Negotiate for spare parts (like extra shoe covers or cooling fans) to be included in the price. If buying multiple units, ask for a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops significantly once you exceed 5 or 10 pieces.
