Water based pigment ink for hp manufacturers

When sourcing pigment ink, you must prioritize particle size (ideally <100nm) to prevent printhead clogging and ensure smooth flow. Verify the pH value (typically 7.0-9.0) and surface tension to match HP's thermal inkjet technology requirements. High-quality inks should offer superior UV resistance and waterproof capabilities once dried on the substrate.

HP utilizes Thermal Inkjet (TIJ) technology, which requires inks with specific heat stability. Ensure the supplier provides compatibility test reports for specific series like PageWide, DesignJet, or OfficeJet. The ink must be formulated to withstand the rapid heating and cooling cycles of the resistors without causing 'kogation' (ink buildup on the heating elements).

For global distribution, ensure the ink complies with REACH (EU) and TSCA (USA) regulations. A valid MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) is mandatory for shipping. Additionally, look for ISO 9001 for manufacturing consistency and ISO 14001 for environmental management, especially regarding the reduction of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).

Water-based pigment inks are ideal for archival document printing, outdoor posters, and high-end photography due to their longevity. Performance benchmarks should include a lightfastness rating of 6-7+ on the Blue Wool Scale and a drying time of less than 5 seconds on coated media to prevent smudging in high-speed commercial printers.

Ink is classified as a liquid chemical, which requires specialized handling. You must ensure the supplier provides a Certificate for Safe Transport of Chemical Goods. Use leak-proof vacuum packaging and reinforced outer cartons. Be aware that air freight for liquids is more expensive and subject to stricter IATA regulations; sea freight is often more economical for bulk orders.

Utilize secure payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until delivery. Always request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by a third party to verify that the batch matches the approved Golden Sample. Avoid suppliers who cannot provide a clear batch-tracking number for their production runs.

Negotiate based on volume-based pricing tiers, as raw pigment costs drop significantly at scale. Ask for a breakdown of the pigment-to-carrier ratio; higher pigment loads justify higher prices but offer better color density. For long-term contracts, try to lock in prices to hedge against fluctuations in chemical raw material costs.

Check for Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) that some regions (like the EU or India) may impose on chemical products from specific origins. Ensure the HS Code (typically 3215.19) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays or fines. Verify if your country offers preferential tariff rates under specific Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
