Wholesale dominoes manufacturers

B2B buyers should prioritize Urea-Formaldehyde (UF) resin or Melamine for high-end sets, as these materials provide the professional 'clink' sound, heavy weight, and scratch resistance required for tournament play. For budget-friendly or promotional items, PP or ABS plastics are common but lack the premium feel. If sourcing wooden sets, ensure they are made from sustainable hardwoods like Beech or Pine and treated with non-toxic, lead-free paints.

Since dominoes are classified as toys or games, they must meet strict safety standards. For the US market, compliance with ASTM F963 and CPSIA (lead and phthalate limits) is mandatory. For the EU market, products must carry the CE mark and comply with EN71 Parts 1, 2, and 3. Always request a Children's Product Certificate (CPC) or a Declaration of Conformity (DoC) from the supplier before shipment.

High-quality dominoes feature deeply recessed, hand-painted pips that will not fade with frequent handling. Check for the presence of a brass spinner (pivot) in the center of each tile, which facilitates easier shuffling and protects the face of the tile from wear. Ensure the back of the tiles is completely opaque and uniform to prevent 'marking' or cheating during gameplay.

For retail and gift markets, prioritize tin boxes, wooden cases with sliding lids, or imitation leatherette boxes to increase perceived value. For institutional use (schools, clubs), bulk shrink-wrapping or sturdy color boxes are more cost-effective. Ensure the packaging includes a warning label for small parts (choking hazard) if the set is intended for children.

Always conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) through a third-party agency. Specifically, instruct the inspector to perform a 'Drop Test' to ensure tiles do not crack and a 'Smell Test' to check for strong chemical odors, which may indicate the use of recycled plastics or non-compliant resins. Using Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services can also provide a layer of payment protection until the goods pass inspection.

Focus on tooling and mold ownership if you require custom sizes or embossed logos. Negotiate for a lower MOQ on trial orders by suggesting a 'standard tile size' but customized packaging. For long-term partnerships, ask for tiered pricing where the unit cost drops significantly once you hit the 5,000 or 10,000-set threshold.

Dominoes are high-density products, meaning they are heavy but occupy little space. This makes them ideal for Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) to minimize the 'cost per kg.' If shipping by air, be aware that the volumetric weight may be lower than the actual weight, leading to high costs. Ensure pallets are double-stacked with corner protectors to prevent the heavy bottom cartons from crushing under the weight during transit.

Verify the supplier's Business License and Export Qualification on the Made-in-China.com platform. Look for 'Audited Suppliers' who have undergone on-site verification by independent bodies like SGS or Bureau Veritas. Avoid paying via untraceable methods; always use Wire Transfers (T/T) to a verified corporate account or platform-based escrow services.
