Wholesale home decoration craft manufacturers

When sourcing home decor, material integrity is paramount. For ceramic and porcelain items, ensure they are fired at high temperatures (above 1200°C) to guarantee durability and chip resistance. For wooden crafts, prioritize kiln-dried timber (moisture content 8-12%) to prevent warping or cracking during cross-border transit. If sourcing polyresin or plastic items, verify that the materials are BPA-free and non-toxic, especially for items intended for indoor use.

Compliance varies by destination. For the US market, products must adhere to CPSIA standards regarding lead and phthalate content in paints and coatings. For the EU market, ensure compliance with REACH regulations and CE marking where applicable (e.g., electronic decor). If the crafts involve natural wood or plant fibers, a Fumigation Certificate and Phytosanitary Certificate are often mandatory to pass customs.

Request high-definition macro photos focusing on joints, seams, and surface smoothness. For hand-painted items, check for consistency in color application and the absence of visible brush strokes unless intentional. Ask for third-party inspection reports (such as DUPRO or FRI) to verify that the Pantone color matching and dimensions align with your original specifications.

For vases, ensure the interior glazing is waterproof to prevent leakage. For candle holders, thermal stability is critical; the material must withstand heat without cracking, and the base must be weighted and balanced to prevent tipping. For wall-mounted decor, verify that the hanging hardware is pre-installed and rated for the product's weight.

Home crafts are often fragile. Insist on 5-layer corrugated export cartons and internal protection such as custom-molded polyfoam (EPS) or bubble wrap. Request a Drop Test Report (ISTA 1A or 3A) from the supplier to ensure the packaging can survive the rigors of sea or air freight. For high-value ceramics, consider palletization to minimize manual handling.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for lower MOQs on trial orders to test market response, and request volume-based rebates for annual contracts. If you are a repeat buyer, negotiate flexible payment terms such as 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L) to improve your cash flow.

Always use secure payment methods and consider utilizing escrow services or Trade Assurance equivalents provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Before transferring large sums, verify the supplier's Business License and Audited Supplier status to ensure they are a legitimate manufacturing entity rather than a middleman.

To avoid legal issues, ensure the supplier has the right to export the design or that the design is in the public domain. If you provide custom designs, sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and a Non-Compete Agreement to prevent the supplier from selling your proprietary designs to other competitors in your target market.
