Wholesale hydrolyzed collagen powder manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize molecular weight, typically measured in Daltons (Da). For optimal bioavailability, look for a range between 2,000 and 5,000 Da. Additionally, verify the protein content, which should be ≥90%, and ensure the moisture content is below 6% to prevent microbial growth and clumping during storage.

As a food or supplement ingredient, the supplier must possess ISO 22000 or HACCP certifications for food safety management. For specific markets, FDA registration (USA) or EFSA compliance (EU) is essential. Furthermore, Halal and Kosher certifications are highly recommended to expand market reach, and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) must be provided for every batch.

Bovine collagen (Types I & III) is generally more cost-effective and widely used for muscle recovery and skin health. Marine collagen (Type I) is often perceived as premium due to its superior absorption rates and is preferred for high-end beauty supplements. Porcine collagen is another economical alternative but may face restrictions in certain religious markets.

Evaluate the solubility; high-quality hydrolyzed collagen should dissolve completely in both cold and hot water without leaving residue. Test the organoleptic properties, ensuring the powder is neutral in taste and odor, as strong fishy or beefy smells indicate poor processing or low-grade raw materials.

The biggest risk is adulteration or heavy metal contamination (e.g., Lead, Arsenic). To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services and insist on third-party lab testing (SGS or Intertek) before the final payment is released. Ensure the supplier provides a Health Certificate issued by customs to avoid entry rejection.

Collagen pricing is sensitive to raw material costs. Negotiate based on volume tiers; for instance, ordering 1,000kg+ can often reduce the price by 15-20% compared to trial orders. Request tiered pricing that accounts for different packaging types, such as 25kg bulk bags vs. private label sachets.

Collagen is hygroscopic. Ensure the supplier uses double-layered PE bags inside fiber drums or heavy-duty cartons. During shipping, specify cool, dry stowage away from heat sources. For long-distance maritime transport, use desiccants inside the container to prevent 'container rain' from damaging the powder integrity.

Check the supplier's profile on Made-in-China.com for the 'Audited Supplier' badge. Review their Business License to ensure their scope includes 'food additives' or 'health food production.' Request a video audit of their production line to confirm they have the spray-drying and hydrolysis equipment necessary for genuine manufacturing.
