Wholesale kids t-shirts manufacturers

When sourcing children's apparel, compliance is non-negotiable. You must ensure products meet CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) standards for the US market, specifically regarding lead content in inks and phthalates in plasticized components. For the EU, adherence to REACH regulations and EN 14682 (safety of children's clothing regarding cords and drawstrings) is mandatory. Always request OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification to guarantee the fabric is free from harmful substances.

Kids' clothing undergoes frequent washing, so prioritize combed cotton or organic cotton blends with a weight of 160-200 GSM for a balance of breathability and durability. Verify the colorfastness rating (Grade 4 or higher) to prevent fading and ensure the shrinkage rate is controlled within ±3%. Requesting a pilling resistance test report is also recommended to ensure the T-shirts maintain a premium look after multiple washes.

To prevent skin irritation, look for tagless labels (heat-transfer printing) or satin-weave labels. Ensure the use of flatlock stitching or overlock seams with soft thread to minimize friction against sensitive skin. For younger age groups (toddlers), verify that shoulder snaps are nickel-free and securely attached to prevent choking hazards, meeting pull-test requirements of at least 90 Newtons.

Most professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. This includes screen printing, digital direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, and high-density embroidery. You can also request custom GSM weights, specific Pantone color matching (PMS), and private labeling (custom neck tags and hangtags) to build your own brand identity.

Always utilize Secured Trading Services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure your payment is held in escrow until delivery is confirmed. Conduct a factory audit or third-party inspection (such as SGS or Intertek) before the final balance payment to verify that the bulk production matches the approved sample in terms of size specifications and fabric composition.

Negotiate based on tiered pricing structures; for instance, a 15-20% discount is often achievable when moving from a 500-unit order to a 2,000-unit order. If you are a startup, look for suppliers offering flexible MOQs (e.g., 50-100 pieces per color) but be prepared to pay a slight premium. Consolidating multiple designs into a single fabric type can also help lower the MOQ requirements.

For urgent samples or small trial orders (under 100kg), Air Express (DHL/FedEx/UPS) is best for speed. For bulk wholesale orders, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical choice, reducing unit shipping costs significantly. Ensure your supplier provides a detailed Packing List and Commercial Invoice with the correct HS Code (typically 6109.10 for cotton T-shirts) to avoid customs delays and ensure accurate duty calculations.
