Wholesale lady garment manufacturers

When sourcing lady garments, the fabric composition is the most critical factor for quality. You should prioritize suppliers that provide detailed material breakdowns (e.g., 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex). For high-end apparel, verify the GSM (Grams per Square Meter) to ensure the fabric weight meets your market's expectations. It is essential to request colorfastness test reports (Grade 4 or higher) and shrinkage tests (less than 3%) to ensure the garments maintain their shape and color after multiple washes. For functional wear like leggings or activewear, check for four-way stretch and moisture-wicking capabilities.

Compliance varies by destination. For the US market, ensure products comply with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) regarding lead content and flammability. For the EU, garments must meet REACH regulations for chemical safety. If you are targeting eco-conscious consumers, look for OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 or GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certifications. Additionally, ensure the supplier provides accurate care labeling and fiber content labels that match the legal requirements of your target country.

Sizing is a common pain point in cross-border apparel. You must provide the supplier with a detailed Tech Pack or a Size Specification Chart (covering chest, waist, hips, and length). Be aware that Asian sizing is typically 1-2 sizes smaller than US or EU sizing. Request pre-production samples (PPS) in all sizes to verify the fit on live models or mannequins. Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com often offer customization services to adjust patterns specifically for Western body types.

Examine the stitching density (typically 10-12 stitches per inch) and the type of seams used; for example, flatlock stitching is preferred for activewear to prevent chafing, while French seams are a sign of high-end luxury garments. Check for reinforcement at stress points like pockets and zippers. Ensure the use of branded zippers (like YKK) and high-quality buttons, as hardware failure is a leading cause of consumer returns.

The primary risks include quality inconsistency between samples and bulk orders and delayed lead times. To mitigate these, always use Third-Party Inspections (TPI) such as V-Trust or SGS before the final payment. On Made-in-China.com, look for 'Audited Suppliers' who have undergone on-site verification of their production capacity and business legitimacy.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for lower MOQs (Minimum Order Quantities) for trial orders to test market response. For long-term partnerships, discuss staggered payment terms (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% after inspection) and ask for volume-based discounts that trigger once your annual purchasing volume reaches a certain threshold.

Apparel is often high-volume but relatively lightweight. For small batches or high-value fashion items, Air Freight is faster but expensive. For bulk wholesale, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical. To save on costs, request vacuum packaging to reduce the volumetric weight of the shipment. Ensure your freight forwarder is experienced in garment-on-hanger (GOH) shipping if you want to avoid heavy ironing/pressing costs upon arrival.

Always conduct transactions through secure payment channels provided by reputable platforms. Utilize Escrow-style services where the payment is only released to the supplier after you confirm receipt or after a successful inspection report. Avoid direct transfers to private bank accounts; ensure the beneficiary name matches the company name on the business license and the Made-in-China.com profile.
