Wholesale leather bike gloves manufacturers

When sourcing leather bike gloves, prioritize Goatskin for its excellent abrasion resistance and tactile sensitivity, or Cowhide for maximum durability in heavy-duty riding. Ensure the leather thickness is between 0.8mm and 1.2mm to balance protection with flexibility. For premium segments, look for Aniline or Semi-Aniline finishes which maintain the natural breathability of the hide.

For the European market, gloves must be CE Certified under EN 13594:2015, which tests for tear strength, seam integrity, and impact protection. In the US, while specific DOT standards for gloves are less common, ensuring compliance with REACH (EU) or California Proposition 65 (US) regarding chemical substances like Hexavalent Chromium [Cr(VI)] in leather tanning is critical for legal entry and consumer safety.

Modern buyers expect Touchscreen-compatible fingertips (conductive leather) and ergonomic pre-curved finger designs to reduce rider fatigue. Additionally, verify the use of double-stitched seams in high-stress areas and the inclusion of TPU or Carbon Fiber knuckle protectors. For summer variants, perforated leather panels are essential for airflow, while winter versions require a waterproof Hipora membrane and Thinsulate lining.

Request a sample and inspect the Stitches Per Inch (SPI); a high-quality glove typically features 8-10 SPI. Check for external seams on the fingers, which provide better comfort by preventing internal rubbing. Ensure that Kevlar or high-tenacity nylon threads are used, as these offer superior heat and friction resistance compared to standard polyester threads.

Implement a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) through a third-party agency. Specify in your contract that the leather must be sourced from LWG (Leather Working Group) certified tanneries to ensure consistent texture and color. Always use Trade Assurance or secure payment methods available on Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until the quality is verified.

Focus on Volume-Based Pricing Tiers; for instance, aim for a 15-20% discount when moving from 500 to 2,000 pairs. Negotiate for custom branding (OEM) and packaging to be included in the unit price. If you are a long-term buyer, request favorable payment terms such as 30/70 (30% deposit, 70% after inspection but before shipping) to improve your cash flow.

Leather is highly susceptible to moisture and mold during long-distance sea freight. Require the supplier to include silica gel desiccant packets in every individual polybag and use moisture-proof inner lining for the master cartons. For high-value leather goods, Air Freight is recommended to reduce transit time and exposure to humidity, despite the higher cost.

Check the HS Code (typically 4203.21 for motorcycle gloves) for your specific country to calculate import duties. Be aware of Anti-Dumping duties that may apply to certain regions. Ensure your supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (CO), such as Form A or RCEP, which can significantly reduce or eliminate tariffs under various Free Trade Agreements.
