Wholesale parrot bird cage manufacturers

When sourcing wholesale parrot cages, prioritize wrought iron with a non-toxic powder coating or 304-grade stainless steel. Ensure the coating is lead-free and zinc-free to prevent heavy metal poisoning, as parrots frequently use their beaks to climb. For large parrots like Macaws, the wire gauge should be at least 3mm to 5mm to prevent bending or breaking.

Bar spacing is critical for safety. For small birds (Budgies, Lovebirds), spacing should be 1/2 inch or less. For medium birds (Cockatiels, Conures), 1/2 to 3/4 inch is ideal. For large parrots (African Greys, Amazons, Macaws), spacing should range from 3/4 inch to 1.25 inches. Incorrect spacing can lead to head entrapment or escape.

Look for cages equipped with bird-proof safety locks (parrots are highly intelligent and can open simple latches). Essential features include removable slide-out trays and grates for easy cleaning, seed guards to minimize mess, and swing-out feeder doors that allow for refilling without reaching inside the cage. Cages with heavy-duty casters are preferred for easy mobility in retail or breeding environments.

Ensure the products comply with ASTM F963-17 (Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety) regarding paint toxicity if applicable, and REACH or RoHS standards for chemical restrictions in the EU. For the US market, verify that the manufacturer adheres to CPSC guidelines regarding sharp edges and hazardous coatings.

Bird cages are bulky and prone to bending. Insist on 5-layer corrugated export cartons with internal foam corner protectors and EPE pearl cotton wrapping. For wholesale orders, request palletization to reduce manual handling risks. Conduct a drop test (ISTA 1A or 2A) on samples before finalizing the bulk order.

Due to the high volume-to-weight ratio, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical choice. To maximize container space, choose KD (Knock-Down) designs that can be flat-packed. Compare FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over your logistics costs and choose a freight forwarder experienced in oversized pet furniture.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume; for example, a 15-20% discount is typical when moving from a 50-unit MOQ to a 200-unit order. Request a sample for quality inspection first, and negotiate for the sample fee to be deducted from the final bulk order payment. Always use secured payment methods offered by the platform to protect your funds.

Always verify the supplier's Business License and Factory Audit Reports on Made-in-China.com. Use Trade Terms like LC (Letter of Credit) or TT (Telegraphic Transfer) with a deposit (typically 30%) and the balance paid only after a third-party pre-shipment inspection (PSI) confirms the quality and quantity.
