Wholesale xanthan gum manufacturers

Selecting the correct grade is critical for performance. For the Food Industry, ensure the product is Food Grade (E415) with high purity and rapid solubility. For Oil Drilling, look for API Grade which offers superior thermal stability and salt tolerance. In Cosmetics, prioritize Transparent or De-oiled grades to ensure the final product remains clear and has a smooth skin feel. Always verify the mesh size (typically 80 or 200 mesh); finer powder (200 mesh) dissolves faster but may clump without proper agitation.

Buyers must verify that the product meets FCC (Food Chemicals Codex) or USP/NF standards. Key technical parameters include Viscosity (typically 1200-1600 cps for 1% solution), Loss on Drying (max 15%), and pH levels (6.0-8.0). For international food markets, certifications such as ISO 22000, HACCP, Halal, and Kosher are non-negotiable. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch to confirm heavy metal limits (Lead < 2ppm) and microbiological safety.

Conduct a viscosity stability test by measuring the solution's thickness across different temperatures and pH ranges (Xanthan gum should remain stable from pH 2 to 12). Test for enzymatic resistance and compatibility with other thickeners like Guar Gum or Locust Bean Gum, as Xanthan Gum often exhibits synergistic effects that increase viscosity significantly when blended. Check for clarity in aqueous solutions if your application is for clear beverages or gels.

The primary risks include moisture absorption during transit, which causes clumping, and regulatory rejection due to improper labeling. Ensure the packaging uses multi-layer paper bags with PE liners and is palletized with shrink wrap. On Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers to mitigate the risk of receiving industrial-grade product labeled as food-grade.

Xanthan Gum prices are influenced by the cost of raw materials like corn starch or glucose. Negotiate based on volume tiers; orders exceeding 5-10 tons usually qualify for significant discounts. Request FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over shipping costs, and always insist on a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by third parties like SGS to verify quality before final payment.

Xanthan Gum should be shipped in cool, dry, and ventilated conditions. Avoid shipping in non-insulated containers during peak summer to prevent degradation. For documentation, ensure the supplier provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a Commercial Invoice with the correct HS Code (391390) to avoid customs delays and ensure accurate duty calculation.
