Wooden tennis racket manufacturers

For high-quality wooden rackets, prioritize multi-ply laminated wood (such as ash, maple, or okoume) which offers superior strength and warp resistance compared to solid wood. Ensure the frame weight is balanced (typically 320g-350g for vintage replicas) and verify that the head size meets the buyer's specific needs, whether for authentic 1970s-style play (approx. 85-90 sq in) or decorative display.

Check for reinforced shoulders and a solid throat design, as these are the highest-stress areas. The wood should be treated with a moisture-resistant clear coat or lacquer to prevent cracking. For functional rackets, request string tension tests (typically 50-60 lbs) to ensure the frame does not collapse under pressure.

Suppliers should provide FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification to prove sustainable wood sourcing. For products entering the EU or US, ensure compliance with REACH or CPSIA regarding the lead content in paints and the phthalate content in synthetic leather grips. If the racket includes a cover, the fabric should meet AZO-free dye standards.

Professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com usually offer laser engraving for logos, customized grip materials (genuine cowhide vs. PU), and bespoke paint finishes. For promotional orders, look for suppliers who can provide custom-printed press frames (racket cradles) which are essential for preventing wooden rackets from warping during storage.

The biggest risks are warping due to humidity changes and mold growth during sea transit. You must require the supplier to use silica gel desiccant packets in every individual box and ensure the master cartons are double-walled corrugated fiberboard to prevent crushing.

Request a pre-production sample (PPS) and a Golden Sample for reference. Negotiate a Quality Assurance Agreement that specifies a maximum moisture content (usually 8-12%) for the wood. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading Service to hold payment until a third-party inspection (like V-Trust or SGS) confirms the goods meet your specs.

Many countries require a Fumigation Certificate or a Phytosanitary Certificate to ensure the wood is pest-free. Verify if your target country has specific anti-dumping duties on wooden furniture or sporting goods from the origin country to avoid unexpected costs at the border.

Wooden rackets are relatively light but bulky. To maximize container utilization, ask the supplier to provide flat-pack options for racket presses and to optimize the inner box dimensions. For orders under 500 units, LCL (Less than Container Load) is cost-effective, but ensure the pallets are plastic or heat-treated wood to comply with international shipping regulations.
