20mm green grass manufacturers

When sourcing 20mm green grass, you must evaluate the Pile Height (20mm), Stitch Rate (typically 130-180 stitches/m), and Gauge (usually 3/8 inch). For durability, ensure the Dtex (linear density) is at least 6000-8000 for residential use or higher for commercial areas. The backing should ideally consist of PP cloth plus Net and SBR Latex to ensure the tufts are securely locked and provide adequate drainage through perforation holes.

The most common materials are PE (Polyethylene), PP (Polypropylene), and Nylon. For a 20mm landscape or leisure grass, a PE straight yarn combined with a PP curly thatch is recommended. The PE provides a soft touch and realistic look, while the PP thatch adds resilience and helps the blades stand upright without excessive infill.

To ensure market entry and user safety, prioritize suppliers who provide REACH or RoHS certification, confirming the grass is free from heavy metals like Lead (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd). Additionally, request UV resistance testing reports (e.g., 3000+ hours UVA/UVB exposure) to prevent fading and brittleness, and Fire Retardant certificates (Class Efl or higher) if the product is intended for indoor or roof garden use.

Dtex refers to the weight of the yarn; a higher Dtex means thicker, more durable blades. Density (total stitches per square meter) determines how 'full' the grass looks. A 20mm grass with 16,800 to 21,000 stitches/sqm is considered high-density. Increasing these parameters will raise the raw material cost but significantly improve the lifespan and aesthetic appeal of the turf.

The biggest risks include color batch variation and creasing during transit. Always request a production sample from the current batch before shipping. To mitigate creasing, ensure the supplier uses hard paper tubes inside the rolls and wraps them in heavy-duty PP woven bags. For large orders, verify the loading plan to prevent rolls at the bottom of the container from being crushed.

Focus on Volume-Based Pricing and Warranty Length. For 20mm grass, a standard warranty is 5-8 years. Negotiate for a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L). If you are a repeat buyer, ask for customized roll widths (e.g., 2m or 4m) to reduce local installation waste, which adds value without necessarily increasing the unit price.

Artificial grass is high-volume and heavy. Sea Freight (FCL - Full Container Load) is the most economical method. Ensure the supplier provides an accurate HS Code (typically 5703.30) to determine correct import duties. For countries with strict environmental laws, ensure the Wood Packaging Material (pallets) is IPPC heat-treated and stamped to avoid customs delays or fines.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by professional platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until shipment. Hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). The inspector should check the roll length, pile height, and tuft withdrawal force to ensure the product matches the agreed-upon specifications.
