Audi car engines manufacturers

When sourcing Audi engines, the most critical factor is the Engine Code (e.g., EA888, EA839, BGB, CDNC). You must verify the displacement (Liters), aspiration type (Turbocharged vs. Naturally Aspirated), and cylinder configuration. Ensure the supplier provides the mileage certification for used/refurbished units or OEM-equivalent casting quality for new long blocks. Pay close attention to the timing chain system version and oil consumption rectification status, especially for older 2.0 TFSI models.

Prioritize suppliers with ISO/TS 16949 or IATF 16949 certification, which are the global standards for automotive quality management. For the European market, ensure the engine meets Euro 5 or Euro 6 emission standards. Always request a compression test report and a video of the engine running on a test bench to verify oil pressure and lack of abnormal noise before shipment.

A Long Block typically includes the engine block, cylinder head, and valvetrain, but excludes 'bolt-on' parts like the turbocharger, alternator, and intake manifold. A Complete Engine (Turnkey) includes all ancillaries and wiring harnesses. For cost-efficiency in cross-border trade, Long Blocks are often preferred as they reduce shipping weight and allow the buyer to reuse existing peripheral components.

Sourced engines are primarily used for aftermarket repairs, professional engine rebuilding services, and performance tuning. They are also high-demand items for auto parts wholesalers catering to insurance workshops. For high-performance models like the RS series, buyers often seek low-mileage salvaged engines for specialized retrofitting projects.

The biggest risks include internal mechanical damage not visible in photos and shipping damage due to improper crating. To mitigate this, require ISPM 15 compliant heat-treated wooden crates and use moisture-proof VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) packaging to prevent cylinder wall rusting during sea transit. Always use Trade Assurance services on Made-in-China.com to secure your payment until the goods are verified.

Standard international warranties for engines range from 6 to 12 months. Negotiate for a 'Parts Only' warranty where the supplier sends replacement components for free if a defect is found. Ensure the contract specifies that the warranty period begins upon installation, not upon arrival at the port, to account for customs clearance and inland transport time.

International shipping regulations classify used engines as hazardous materials if they contain oil or fuel. You must ensure the supplier completely drains all fluids and provides a 'Cleanliness Certificate'. Failure to do so can lead to heavy fines or the shipment being rejected by the carrier. For documentation, ensure the Engine Serial Number is clearly listed on the Commercial Invoice and Packing List to facilitate customs identification.

Look for 'Audited Suppliers' on Made-in-China.com who have undergone third-party onsite inspections by SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Check their export history to your specific country and ask for photos of their testing facility. A reliable supplier should be able to provide detailed photos of the cylinder bores (via borescope) and the underside of the oil cap to check for sludge buildup.
