Bassinet manufacturers

Safety is the paramount concern for infant products. You must ensure the product complies with ASTM F2194 (Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Bassinets and Cradles) and 16 CFR Part 1218 in the US, or EN 1130 in the EU. Verify that the supplier provides Children's Product Certificates (CPC) and that the materials are lead-free, phthalate-free, and meet OEKO-TEX Standard 100 for textiles to ensure no harmful chemicals touch the infant's skin.

Focus on structural stability and breathability. The frame should be made of reinforced aluminum or solid wood to prevent tipping. The side walls must feature 360° breathable mesh to reduce the risk of suffocation and SIDS. Additionally, ensure the mattress firmness meets safety guidelines (not too soft) and the waterproof mattress cover is removable and machine washable for hygiene.

For the premium market, look for multi-functional designs such as 3-in-1 systems (bassinet, bedside sleeper, and travel cot). Key features include adjustable height levels (usually 5-7 positions) to align with various bed heights, incline adjustments to help with infant reflux, and silent swivel wheels with locking mechanisms for easy room-to-room mobility.

To optimize costs, consider the packaging volume (CBM); bassinets that are fully collapsible or tool-free assembly significantly reduce shipping costs and storage fees. Analyze the MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity)—many top-tier suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer MOQs starting at 50-100 units, allowing for better cash flow management while testing new designs.

Always mandate a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third-party agency like SGS or Intertek. Specifically, request a load-bearing test and a small parts cylinder test to ensure no components pose a choking hazard. Utilizing Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com can protect your payment until the quality inspection is passed.

Negotiate based on long-term volume forecasts rather than a single order to secure 10-15% discounts. Request OEM/ODM customization (such as branded carry bags or specific fabric patterns) to be included in the unit price. Also, negotiate for a 1-2% spare parts allowance (e.g., extra screws, fabric covers) to handle minor after-sales issues without returning full units.

Bassinets are relatively light but bulky. Use High Cube (HC) containers to maximize space. Ensure the outer cartons are 5-layer corrugated cardboard with internal foam corner protectors to prevent frame bending during transit. For shipping to the US or Europe, ensure all tracking labels and warning permanent markings are clearly visible on the product as required by customs.

Stay updated on Section 301 tariffs if importing to the US, and ensure your supplier is registered with the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission). For the EU, ensure the CE mark is correctly applied. Documentation like the Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, and Packing List must explicitly state the age grading of the product to avoid customs delays.
