Black cherries price manufacturers

When sourcing black cherries, quality is categorized by Brix level (sugar content), firmness (Durofel scale), and size (Row count or mm). For premium markets, look for a Brix level above 16% and a diameter of 28mm+ (Jumbo/Super Jumbo). Ensure the stems are bright green and flexible, which indicates freshness, and the skin is dark, glossy, and free of pitting or cracks.

Black cherries are highly perishable and require a strict cold chain at 0°C to 1°C (32°F to 34°F) with 90-95% relative humidity. Buyers should mandate the use of Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) bags to slow down respiration and extend shelf life. Ensure the supplier uses temperature data loggers throughout the transit to verify that no temperature excursions occurred.

Suppliers must provide Phytosanitary Certificates issued by their national plant protection organization. For food safety, prioritize producers with GlobalG.A.P. certification and HACCP systems. If exporting to the US or EU, ensure compliance with Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) for pesticides and verify that the orchard is registered for export to your specific country.

The market is divided into the Northern Hemisphere season (May–August) led by the USA, Turkey, and Uzbekistan, and the Southern Hemisphere season (November–February) dominated by Chile. To maintain stable pricing, buyers should establish forward contracts 3-4 months in advance of the peak harvest. Prices fluctuate daily based on air freight availability and harvest yields.

Always request a Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third party like SGS to verify grade and cooling status. For long-distance maritime trade, use Controlled Atmosphere (CA) containers. On Made-in-China.com, you can vet suppliers based on their export history and cold-storage infrastructure to ensure they understand the rigors of international transit.

Negotiate based on Volume Tiers and Seasonal Fixed Pricing rather than spot market prices to avoid volatility. Discuss Incoterms clearly; while CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) is common, FOB (Free On Board) allows the buyer better control over the cold chain logistics provider. Ask for a price breakdown that includes packing, cooling, and terminal handling charges.

Utilize Secured Payment terms or Letters of Credit (L/C) that release funds only upon the presentation of a clean Bill of Lading and a passing Phytosanitary report. Conduct due diligence via Made-in-China.com’s audited supplier reports to confirm the supplier’s legal status and production capacity before transferring large deposits.

Define a clear 'Arrival Quality' window, typically 24 to 48 hours after customs clearance, during which claims for 'pitting,' 'internal browning,' or 'mold' can be filed. Require photographic evidence and a joint inspection report from a local surveyor to facilitate insurance claims or supplier rebates.
