Camper trailer tent caravan manufacturers

When selecting a camper trailer, prioritize the chassis and suspension system. Ensure the chassis is hot-dip galvanized to prevent corrosion, especially for off-road use. For suspension, independent coil spring suspension with dual shock absorbers is the industry standard for durability. Additionally, verify the ATM (Aggregate Trailer Mass) and Tare Weight to ensure compatibility with target market towing regulations and common vehicle capacities.

The tent should be constructed from high-quality Ripstop Canvas (typically 14oz to 16oz). It must be UV-resistant, mold-resistant, and 100% waterproof. Check for double-stitched seams and midge-proof netting on all windows and doors. For the roof, a tropical roof fly is highly recommended to improve thermal insulation and prevent condensation inside the sleeping area.

Compliance varies by destination. For the Australian market, trailers must adhere to ADR (Australian Design Rules) and have a valid VIN. For the US market, DOT (Department of Transportation) certification for tires, lights, and safety chains is mandatory. For European markets, look for CE marking and e-Mark certification for electrical components and braking systems. Always request ISO 9001 certification from the manufacturer to ensure consistent production quality.

Specify a dual-battery system (AGM or Lithium LiFePO4) with a high-quality BMS (Battery Management System). Ensure the internal wiring is marine-grade to withstand vibrations. For plumbing, prioritize food-grade poly water tanks with stainless steel bash plates for protection. The inclusion of a certified gas plumbing system with copper piping is a critical safety requirement for most Western markets.

Implement a multi-stage inspection process. Do not rely solely on factory photos; hire a third-party inspection agency to conduct a During Production Check (DUPRO) and a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). Focus specifically on weld integrity, alignment of the axle, and water-tightness tests (hose tests) for the tent and body seals. Using Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services can provide an additional layer of payment protection until the inspection report is cleared.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Discuss spare parts kits (5% of order value) to be included for after-sales support. If ordering in volume, negotiate for exclusive regional distribution rights or OEM branding (custom logos and color schemes) at no extra cost. Always clarify Incoterms; for large trailers, CIF or DAP might be complex, so FOB is often preferred to maintain control over specialized OOG (Out of Gauge) shipping costs.

Camper trailers are bulky and often classified as Oversized Cargo. To optimize costs, inquire if the supplier can flat-pack certain components or if the units are designed to fit into 40HC (High Cube) containers (e.g., removing wheels/hitches to fit 2-4 units per container). Ensure the supplier uses heavy-duty lashing and internal bracing inside the container to prevent shifting during sea transit, which is a common cause of structural damage.

Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) which some countries (like the US) have previously applied to certain types of trailers. Check your local Harmonized System (HS) Code (typically under 8716.10) for specific tariff rates. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (CO) to take advantage of any Free Trade Agreements (FTA) that may exist between China and your country to reduce import duties.
