Car number plate frame manufacturers

For high-durability requirements, Stainless Steel (304 grade) is the gold standard due to its superior corrosion resistance in coastal or snowy areas. Aluminum alloy offers a lightweight, rust-proof alternative that is ideal for color anodizing. For budget-friendly or high-volume promotional needs, ABS plastic is common, but it must be UV-stabilized to prevent cracking and fading under prolonged sunlight exposure.

Compliance is critical as frames must not obscure the state name, registration stickers, or license numbers. For the US market, frames must fit standard 12x6 inch plates and often require a 'slimline' design to meet strict anti-obscuration laws in states like Texas or California. For the EU market, frames must accommodate the longer 520x110mm format and often feature clip-in mechanisms rather than screw-holes to meet local preferences.

Suppliers on Made-in-China.com typically offer three main methods: Laser engraving for a permanent, premium look on metal frames; Silk-screen printing for cost-effective multi-color logos on plastic; and 3D Embossing/Debossing for high-end automotive dealership branding. Ensure the supplier uses weather-resistant inks or coatings to prevent peeling.

High-quality frames should include anti-rattle foam pads or silicone backing to prevent noise during driving and protect the vehicle's paint. Additionally, theft-deterrent screw caps add a layer of security and provide a finished, aesthetic look to the installation.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site inspections by third-party institutions like SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Request a pre-production sample to test the fitment on an actual plate and perform a salt spray test (typically 24-48 hours) to verify the anti-rust claims of metal components.

License plate frames, especially plastic ones, are prone to cracking under pressure during transit. Ensure the supplier uses individual bubble bag packaging and reinforced 5-layer corrugated outer cartons. For large sea freight orders, use pallets to minimize manual handling damage.

Standard MOQs for custom molds are usually 500-1,000 pieces. To lower costs, negotiate a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops by 10-15% once you exceed 2,000 units. If you are a startup, look for suppliers offering laser marking on stock frames, which allows for lower MOQs (e.g., 50-100 units) without high tooling costs.

Check for anti-dumping duties or specific automotive accessory tariffs in your country. Ensure the commercial invoice uses the correct HS Code (typically 8708.99) to avoid customs delays. Always use Secure Payment services on the platform to ensure your funds are protected until the goods are shipped.
