Car tyres 185 65r15 price manufacturers

When sourcing this specific size, you must verify the Load Index (typically 88 or 92) and Speed Rating (usually H or V) to ensure they meet the vehicle manufacturer's requirements. Additionally, check the UTQG (Uniform Tire Quality Grading) ratings for Treadwear, Traction, and Temperature; a treadwear rating of 400 or higher is ideal for budget-conscious B2B buyers seeking longevity. Ensure the DOT (Department of Transportation) code indicates a production date within the last 6-12 months to guarantee rubber freshness.

Compliance is non-negotiable in the tyre industry. For the US market, DOT certification is mandatory. For Europe, look for E-mark (ECE) certification and the EU Tyre Label, which grades fuel efficiency, wet grip, and external rolling noise. If exporting to Brazil, INMETRO is required, while GCC (GSO) is necessary for Middle Eastern markets. Always request ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certificates from the manufacturer to ensure automotive-grade quality management.

Request third-party lab test reports focusing on braking distance on wet/dry surfaces and high-speed endurance tests. Ask the supplier for a cross-section sample or detailed photos of the internal structure, specifically the number of steel belt layers and nylon overlays. High-quality tyres in this size usually feature a jointless nylon wrap to prevent tread separation at high speeds. For bulk orders, consider hiring an inspection agency like SGS or Intertek to perform a Durometer hardness test on the rubber compound.

The price is primarily driven by the Natural Rubber (NR) and Synthetic Rubber (SR) content, as well as the Carbon Black grade used. Economies of scale are significant; ordering a full 40HQ container (approx. 1,100–1,300 pieces) can reduce the unit price by 15-20% compared to LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments. Additionally, seasonal demand affects pricing—buying winter-rated tyres in the off-season (spring) often yields better negotiation leverage.

The biggest risks include Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) and Countervailing Duties (CVD), which some countries impose on tyres from specific regions (e.g., the US on Chinese-made passenger tyres). Always check your local Harmonized System (HS) Code (typically 4011.10) against current trade remedy lists. Another risk is deformation during transit; ensure the supplier uses proper doubling or tripling (nesting) techniques only if necessary, as excessive pressure can damage the bead wire, making the tyre impossible to mount.

Focus on long-term partnership incentives rather than just the lowest initial price. Negotiate for exclusive distribution rights in your region if you can commit to a specific annual volume. Ask for marketing support, such as free branded sidewall designs or promotional materials (racks, posters). Ensure the contract includes a warranty policy covering manufacturing defects (e.g., 3 years or 50,000km) with a clear process for credit notes or replacements in the next shipment.

Tyres are 'ugly cargo' that take up significant volume. To optimize costs, use FOB (Free On Board) terms to maintain control over your freight forwarder and shipping lines. Ensure the supplier provides a Loading Manifest that maximizes container space. For 185/65R15 tyres, verify if the country of destination has environmental disposal fees (tyre tax) that must be declared at customs. Always use moisture-absorbent bags in the container to prevent oxidation or blooming (white powder) on the tyre surface during long sea voyages.
