China bath & shower gel manufacturers

When sourcing, prioritize formulations that balance cleansing efficacy with skin barrier protection. Look for sulfate-free options (using Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate or Decyl Glucoside) to appeal to sensitive skin markets. Ensure the inclusion of humectants like Glycerin or Hyaluronic Acid and emollients such as Jojoba oil or Shea butter. For premium positioning, request botanical extracts with proven antioxidant properties.

Suppliers must adhere to GMPC (Good Manufacturing Practice Cosmetics) and ISO 22716 standards. For the US market, products must comply with FDA VCRP (Voluntary Cosmetic Registration Program) and MoCRA (Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act) requirements. For the EU, a CPSR (Cosmetic Product Safety Report) and registration on the CPNP (Cosmetic Products Notification Portal) are mandatory to ensure ingredient safety and labeling accuracy.

Request a Stability Testing Report from the manufacturer, which covers accelerated aging tests (typically 1-3 months at 40°C/45°C) to simulate a 2-3 year shelf life. Verify the preservative efficacy testing (PET) to ensure the product remains free from microbial growth after opening. Also, confirm that the packaging material (PET, HDPE, or Glass) does not react with the formula, preventing leaching or scent degradation.

Most professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer private label services including custom fragrance development (working with houses like Givaudan or Firmenich), adjustable viscosity, and bespoke packaging shapes. Buyers can also request functional additives like exfoliating beads (must be biodegradable) or pH-balanced formulas (typically pH 5.5) to match specific brand identities.

Always mandate a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) conducted by a third party like SGS or Intertek. Ensure the inspector performs a random sampling to check for color consistency, fragrance accuracy, and pH levels. Never release the final 70% balance payment until the lab test results confirm the batch matches the approved Gold Sample.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). While the liquid bulk is relatively inexpensive, custom molds for bottles can drive up initial costs. Negotiate a lower MOQ for the liquid if you use standardized bottle shapes. For long-term partnerships, request a price ladder where the unit price drops by 5-10% as volume doubles, and ask for free replacement units (1-2%) to cover potential leakage during transit.

Bath gels are classified as non-hazardous liquids in most cases, but you must provide an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and a Safe Transport of Chemical Goods Certificate for sea or air freight. Ensure the outer cartons are double-walled corrugated fiberboard and use internal dividers to prevent bottle friction. Specify palletization with shrink wrap to ensure stability during maritime transit and minimize handling damage.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payments. Conduct a factory audit (virtual or physical) to verify the supplier is a Manufacturer rather than a trading company, which ensures better control over the production chain and ingredient sourcing. Verify their Business License and check for any history of legal disputes regarding product quality.
