Safety is the highest priority. You must ensure products are made from medical-grade silicone, TPE, or ABS plastic. It is critical to verify that materials are BPA-free, phthalate-free, and latex-free to prevent skin irritation or toxicity. Request RoHS and REACH certification to ensure compliance with chemical safety regulations, especially for the European market.

Focus on waterproof ratings (IPX7 or higher) to ensure safety during cleaning and use. Battery reliability is key; prioritize lithium-ion batteries with overcharge protection and USB magnetic charging interfaces. For motors, look for noise levels below 50dB to meet consumer demand for discretion, and ensure the vibration frequency modes are clearly defined in the technical manual.

Request a Life Cycle Test report to see how many hours the motor can run continuously. For silicone products, check the shore hardness (durometer) to ensure it matches the intended use (soft vs. firm). You should also ask for tensile strength tests on flexible parts to ensure they do not tear under repeated stress. Third-party inspections before shipment are highly recommended for bulk orders.

For the US market, FDA registration for the manufacturer is often required if the items are classified as medical devices. For the EU, CE marking is mandatory for all electronic components. Additionally, ensure the packaging includes WEEE symbols for electronic waste disposal and clear multi-language user manuals to meet consumer protection laws.

Customs regulations for adult products vary significantly by country. Always use neutral packaging (discreet shipping) without explicit imagery or provocative wording on the outer carton. Ensure the HS Code (typically 9019.10 or 9503.00 depending on local rules) is declared accurately. Avoid importing items that could be classified as 'obscene' in conservative jurisdictions to prevent seizure of goods.

Start by requesting a sample order to verify the 'hand-feel' and motor quality. Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), including specialized packaging costs. For long-term partnerships, ask for OEM/ODM capabilities such as custom logo embossing or private label packaging, which can significantly increase your retail margins. Aim for a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment after a successful pre-shipment inspection.

Always use Secured Payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until delivery is confirmed. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Ensure the supplier has a Gold Member status or a Verified Manufacturer badge, which indicates they have undergone on-site audits by independent agencies like SGS or TÜV Rheinland.

For small to medium batches, Air Express (DHL/FedEx/UPS) is preferred for speed and better tracking, which is vital for high-value electronics. For large bulk orders, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is more economical. Ensure the supplier provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a UN38.3 Test Report for products containing lithium batteries, as these are required for air transport safety compliance.
