The most critical component is the Neodymium magnetic connection at the bridge; ensure the supplier uses high-grade magnets that maintain a secure closure during physical activity. The adjustable headband or neck strap should be made of flexible, shape-memory materials like TR90 or high-quality polycarbonate to prevent snapping. For the lenses, prioritize anti-reflective coatings and blue light blocking technology if targeting office workers or digital device users.

To ensure legal entry into major markets, products must comply with ISO 12870:2016 for ophthalmic optics. For the US market, FDA registration and Impact Resistance (21 CFR 801.410) certification are mandatory. For the EU, look for the CE Mark and compliance with EN ISO 12312-1. Additionally, ensure the materials are nickel-free and hypoallergenic to prevent skin irritation during prolonged neck wear.

Request the factory to provide cycle test reports for the magnetic closure, ideally exceeding 5,000 open/close cycles without loss of magnetic flux. For the sliding side-stems, verify the locking tension to ensure they don't become loose over time. It is highly recommended to source from manufacturers on Made-in-China.com who offer SGS or TÜV Rheinland verified factory audits to confirm their internal quality control processes.

A professional factory should offer custom logo printing (laser or silk-screen) on the temple, bespoke pantone color matching for the frames, and variable diopter ranges (typically +1.00 to +4.00). Advanced suppliers can also provide customized packaging solutions, such as branded microfiber pouches or hard cases, which are essential for retail-ready B2B shipments.

The biggest risks include intellectual property (IP) infringement regarding the magnetic design and non-compliance with medical device regulations. Always verify that the factory has the right to export this specific design and check if the product infringes on existing patents in your target country. Use Trade Assurance services on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until the goods pass quality inspection.

Focus on tiered pricing; for example, aim for a 15-20% discount when moving from a 500-unit order to a 2,000-unit order. If you are a startup, negotiate a lower MOQ for trial colors while committing to a larger total volume. Always clarify if the quoted price is FOB (Free on Board) or EXW (Ex Works), as shipping costs for lightweight eyewear can fluctuate significantly.

For orders under 100kg, Air Express (DHL/FedEx/UPS) is preferred for speed and lower risk of crushing. For larger wholesale volumes, Sea Freight (LCL) is more economical, but you must ensure the factory uses double-walled corrugated export cartons and internal dividers to prevent the frames from being deformed under pressure during transit.

Always conduct due diligence by checking the supplier's Business License and Export Qualification on the Made-in-China.com platform. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts; instead, use secured payment gateways. Request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) by a third party to verify that the magnetic strength and lens clarity meet your specifications before the final balance is paid.
