Ddr2 ram manufacturers

Buyers must focus on frequency (533, 667, or 800 MHz) and module density. Ensure the CAS Latency (CL) matches the system requirements, typically CL5 or CL6 for DDR2-800. It is critical to distinguish between Desktop DIMM (240-pin) and Laptop SO-DIMM (200-pin) form factors. Additionally, verify if the system requires ECC (Error Correction Code) for servers or Non-ECC for standard PCs, as they are not interchangeable.

Since DDR2 is an older technology, you must confirm if the chips are Original Brand (Samsung, Hynix, Micron) or third-party rebranded. Request MemTest86+ reports from the supplier to ensure zero bit errors. High-quality modules should use a 6-layer or 8-layer PCB for better heat dissipation and signal integrity. Always ask for the date code to ensure the components haven't suffered from long-term oxidation in improper storage.

The product must adhere to RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) to ensure it is lead-free, which is a requirement for the EU and US markets. CE Marking is necessary for Europe, and FCC Certification is required for the United States to ensure electromagnetic interference levels are within legal limits. For the South Korean market, KC certification may be required.

New DDR2 RAM is increasingly rare; most 'new' stock uses recycled original chips on new PCBs. Refurbished units are highly cost-effective but carry higher failure risks. For B2B buyers, the most feasible approach is to source 'New Tray' (OEM) units with a 3-year to lifetime warranty. This balances the low unit cost of legacy tech with the reliability needed for industrial or maintenance contracts.

Always use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to protect your payment until quality is verified. Request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) where a third party runs software like CPU-Z to verify the SPD (Serial Presence Detect) information matches the advertised specs. Avoid deals that are significantly below market price, as these often involve re-marked chips (e.g., 533MHz chips overclocked and labeled as 800MHz).

Focus on the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) rate. Negotiate a defective allowance (usually 1-2%) where the supplier provides extra units upfront to cover potential failures, or agree on a buffer stock held by the supplier for immediate replacements. For bulk orders, push for tiered pricing based on the total annual volume rather than a single PO.

RAM modules are highly sensitive to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge). Ensure the supplier uses anti-static trays or bags and double-walled corrugated boxes for outer packaging. For international shipping, use air freight to minimize the time the electronics spend in humid port environments, and ensure the commercial invoice clearly states the HS Code (8473.30) to avoid customs delays.

Be aware of anti-dumping duties and Section 301 tariffs (if shipping to the US) that may apply to electronic components originating from specific regions. Check the latest Export Control lists, as high-end computing components can sometimes face restrictions, though legacy DDR2 is generally exempt. Always verify the Certificate of Origin (CO) to ensure smooth customs clearance and potential preferential tariff treatment.
