Deep fry wok manufacturers

For professional B2B sourcing, Carbon Steel is the industry standard due to its rapid heat conductivity and ability to develop a natural non-stick patina (seasoning). For high-volume commercial kitchens, ensure a thickness of at least 1.5mm to 2.0mm to prevent warping under high BTU burners. Alternatively, 304 Stainless Steel is preferred for acidic cooking or where HACCP compliance and ease of sanitation are priorities, though it lacks the natural non-stick properties of carbon steel.

The Cantonese-style (dual metal ear handles) is ideal for heavy, large-capacity woks used in steaming or deep-frying where stability is key. The Northern-style (single long handle), typically made of hollow stainless steel or stay-cool wood, is better for toss-frying (Wok Hei). For safety, ensure handles are triple-riveted or heavy-duty spot welded to withstand the weight of oil and food during intensive commercial use.

Buyers must distinguish between Round Bottom woks, which require a wok ring or specialized gas ranges, and Flat Bottom woks, which are essential for Induction Cooktops and electric ranges. If sourcing for induction, verify the base is ferromagnetic and has a diameter that matches the induction coil to ensure even heat distribution and prevent 'hot spots' that can scorch oil.

Ensure the product meets FDA (US) or LFGB (EU) food contact safety standards. For coated woks (e.g., non-stick), it is critical to confirm they are PFOA-free and PFOS-free. If the wok is intended for the US market, NSF Certification is highly recommended as it is often a requirement for commercial health inspections.

Carbon steel woks are highly susceptible to oxidation. You should require the supplier to apply a food-grade anti-rust oil coating and use VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) paper or vacuum-sealed plastic packaging. For bulk shipments, ensure the use of desiccants within the shipping containers to manage humidity levels during transit.

Request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) focusing on surface smoothness (to avoid burrs) and handle tensile strength. Use platforms like Made-in-China.com to select Audited Suppliers who provide full factory inspection reports. Negotiate a 1-2% spare parts allowance for handles or lids, or a defect credit for any items that arrive with structural damage.

Woks are heavy and relatively low-value per unit, making Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) the only economically feasible option for bulk orders. To optimize shipping costs, request nested packaging (stacking woks inside each other) to reduce the volumetric weight. Ensure the HS Code (typically 7323.94 or 7323.93) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays and ensure accurate duty calculation.

Always utilize Secured Payment services offered by reputable B2B platforms like Made-in-China.com, which hold funds in escrow until shipping documents are verified. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. For first-time orders, a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is a standard and safe negotiation starting point.
