Dextrose injection sweetener manufacturers

As a medical-grade product, Dextrose Injection must strictly adhere to international pharmacopoeia standards such as USP (United States Pharmacopeia), BP (British Pharmacopeia), or EP (European Pharmacopoeia). Suppliers must possess a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certificate to ensure the production environment meets sterile requirements. Additionally, for cross-border trade, verify if the manufacturer has ISO 13485 (Medical Devices Quality Management) and CE marking or FDA registration depending on the target market.

Buyers must specify the concentration levels (e.g., 5%, 10%, 25%, or 50%) and the pH value range (typically 3.2 to 6.5). It is vital to ensure the product is pyrogen-free and sterile. The packaging material is also a key spec; choose between non-PVC flexible bags, glass bottles, or PP plastic bottles, ensuring they provide a high moisture barrier and are compatible with medical administration sets.

Request a Stability Testing Report from the supplier, which details how the dextrose reacts under various temperature and humidity conditions. The standard shelf life is usually 24 to 36 months. Ensure the supplier provides Batch Analysis Reports (COA) for every shipment to confirm that the glucose purity and osmotic pressure meet the required medical thresholds.

Dextrose Injection is primarily used in hospitals and clinics for fluid replacement and caloric intake. In a broader B2B context, it is sourced by pharmaceutical wholesalers, emergency relief organizations, and veterinary clinics. It serves as a vehicle for intravenous drug delivery and a treatment for hypoglycemia or insulin shock.

Since this is a liquid medical product, it is heavy and sensitive to extreme temperatures. Use reefer containers or temperature-controlled logistics if shipping through extreme climates to prevent crystallization or degradation. Ensure the supplier uses heavy-duty corrugated pallets and shrink-wrapping to prevent leakage and breakage during sea freight. Always clarify Incoterms; CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) is often preferred for medical liquids to ensure the seller covers insurance until the port of destination.

Utilize secure payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com, which offer escrow-like protections. Before placing a bulk order, conduct a factory audit (either in person or via a third-party inspector like SGS or Intertek) to verify the GMP cleanroom status. Never transfer full payments upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is a common risk-mitigation strategy.

Importing medical-grade dextrose requires a Certificate of Origin, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and most importantly, an Import License for Medical Products issued by your local health authority (e.g., MOH or FDA). Ensure the HS Code (typically 3004.90) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays or heavy fines. Failure to provide a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) may result in the carrier refusing the shipment.

Focus on consistency of supply rather than just the lowest price. Negotiate a price escalation clause tied to raw material (corn/sugar) costs to maintain a stable partnership. Ask for priority production slots during peak seasons. For large volumes, aim for a 10-15% discount compared to spot market prices, and insist on a quality guarantee clause that allows for full refunds or replacements if a batch fails third-party testing upon arrival.
